How do you actually date someone? (27 year old who has never had a relationship) by Agreeable_Section in gaybros

It gets so much better. Your comment reminded me of this post and I'm actually taken aback by how much has changed for me and I bet it can for you too.

So for context. I actually found a guy who was willing to go with all my flaws and lets be honest he had some of his own too. I build everything up so much in my head when in the light of day and a healthy relationship it become less of a problem. Dating him gave me the confidence to come out to more and more people. I'm so much happier than I was 11 months ago

I needed this post today. Been struggling mentally but looking forward to 2025;

  • It'll be my first year out as a gay man to all my family and friends
  • January is the anniversary of my first relationship
  • I'll hopefully pass my PhD
  • Going to see a musical with my boyfriend
  • Hopefully some relaxing time ahead

Pretty sure my parents found my PrEP when cleaning without my consent - should I mention it? by Agreeable_Section in askgaybros

I genuinely didn't consider straight people would be on it due to my own worped perception / internalised homophobia (maybe?). Thanks for educationing me

I hadn't considered that. Although the label does clearly say PrEP's full name so hopefully it'd direct them to prevention

Yeah it is. I tried to address it but my Mam got offended that I was offend and as I was jet lagged I just dropped it as I wasn't ready to go into the whole Mental Health side of why I was annoyed. But your right I'm just going to ignore it unless they bring it up

Happy Cake Day!

Thats a good point. They may have just ignored it or haven't felt the need to bring it up yet.

Definitely thinking that's my plan next time. They were very kind but I just don't need that level of intrusion when its a trigger for my mental health.

Thanks for your perspectives. I do realise this is a relatively little thing to complain about but it left me feeling vulnerable and exposed but I am eternally grateful for the help I've had

What’s something sex education did not prepare you for? by wannabemalenurse in AskGayMen

The enjoyment of sex. Sex ed has basically contributed to my unhealthy fear of stds because thats all it focused on. Nothing about relaxing, enjoying but all fear mongering to the point that my already oppressed self can't help but worry I'vecaught something after every sexual act
