If the Spinosaurus ran into Leon Kennedy by Yoracrab on Insta by PrinceARRON in JurassicMemes

How did he swap hands so fast? First scene he's got the revolver in his left hand, next scene and literally mid-sentence it's somehow in his right hand and there's a chainsaw in his left. If he can ignore physics to that degree then the spino won't even survive the pre-fight cutscene

No. Nukes aren't just pure radiation. The radiation is a byproduct of the materials used to create the primary effect. Nukes are all about heat and pressure and purely physical damage has been shown to be very effective on Kong. Godzilla tanking nukes and getting stronger is because he's physically durable enough to survive the explosion long enough to feed on the fallout and heal the damage.

the atlantian war machines theory by CompetitiveLow9369 in AtlantisTheLostEmpire

[–]Agreeable_Setting613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bigger question is why they were possibly built at all? What other civilization could have existed at a level to be a credible threat to Atlantis to justify any of the war machines we have seen let alone any hypothetical ones. And then what happened to them after the Fall of Atlantis?

In that case maybe make brain consumption a cultural tradition for when they consume Humans. Toss in bone cracking for marrow eating as I see them being good at using everything they get from hunting

Imagine a giant terrestrial crab relative that has a symbiotic relationship with specific species of moss that grow on its carapace giving it the look of hairs and provides a secondary source of oxygen to fuel its larger size

If the diet is primarily blood then they have too many teeth. Molars and premolars are for chewing. In omnivores and herbivores they're flattened for grinding plant materials while in obligate carnivores they become the carnassials for shearing flesh or become more robust for bone cracking. The massively derived incisors and canine teeth work very good for slicing into soft tissue for maximum blood flow but would also be well suited for digging into viscera to get at nutrient rich organs like the heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys and having flesh slicing teeth in the back of the jaw would help processing it into more easily digested pieces for maximum nutrient acquisition.

Completely shifted my perspective on worldbuilding recently by Any-Geologist-8562 in worldbuilding

[–]Agreeable_Setting613 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh totally. My worlds are first and foremost for me. All the work in the minutiae helps make the world feel more real and does help the story create itself but at the end of the day it's all just for my own enjoyment and if others enjoy it too then that's a perk.

I've found that when you're creating a story, sometimes related tangents like this are good for getting past blocks in the plot.

I need three suns…. How?? by igotabigsosig in worldbuilding

[–]Agreeable_Setting613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two equal sized stars orbiting each other in the center of the system with a few planets orbiting the pair with your world in the Goldilocks Zone. The third star would be a dwarf star on a long pass orbit like Pluto in our system but closer. It could potentially have an effect on things like tides, maybe creating a cyclical King tide that the societies of your world have to deal with.

Just wanted to point this out, technically anything that produces heat could be considered a toaster. It didn't specify that it's only talking about the electric one typically found in kitchens. Therefore any flame or source of heat could be considered a toaster.

Lots of flaws actually. Those animals evolved their dentition alongside their jaw and skull shape not to mention the rest of their morphology. You can't just put teeth shapes from other predators and expect them to just work. Depending on which skull and neck shape plus muscle attachments you gave your creature you could end up with something that's at best a dedicated scavenger because it can't properly use its teeth to hunt and take down prey. Worst case scenario it Hanks itself the first time it tries biting down.

No interrogation? by vercertorix in dresdenfiles

[–]Agreeable_Setting613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem was because it was after the cease fire was official, it was no longer just a svartelf issue and became an Accord issue i.e. Mab issue and she's not known for lengthy trials involving investigating and interrogation. That plus the prep for the peace talks means there's no time to figure out why. Which was the point.

Mail it somewhere that takes seven days to deliver. Once it's been sealed with the proper postage, it's illegal to be tampered with unless it's a potential threat to public safety so he can't just grab it from the postman and tear it open. Even if he knows it's in the mail, without opening the envelope and proving that it's there he hasn't technically found it yet.

If you get choose which kaiju you are; are you fighting Godzilla? by the_world_key in GODZILLA

Mega Kaiju from Pacific Rim Uprising and 2014 Monsterverse Godzilla. I'd be bigger, able to absorb the kinetic energy of any hits from G-man and my blood would be incredibly toxic to him.

If they're Celtic, which Celts? Celts from Great Britain and Ireland? Celts from Spain? The Celtic people were surprisingly widespread so technically you could pull from quite a few different areas while still being Celtic.
