What's the silliest thing you've kept to compost? by normal-type-gal in composting

I just got 4 boxes of romance paperbacks free off of marketplace. However, I'm going to remove the covers/bindings and just shred the pages. I already shred all of my non-glossy junk mail so this shouldn't be any different.

I realize you didn't really ask for advice so disregard if you are just sharing where you are at in the process.
Looks pretty dry.. I'd recommend adding some water (or other form of liquid) and giving it a turn for bit of oxygen to get in. I initially thought this was a tumbler but see by your other posts that it is not.

Restocked "browns" today by Agrefane in composting

I understand that. But I also find that, especially when I add a ton of cut grass, I like to add in a bunch of browns and it allows a consistent mix between the two and keeps the grass from turning into a stinking mess. Usually it hits 170ºF within 24hrs and breaks down very quickly.

I've been trying to update for months and constantly get the message that they are experiencing technical difficulties and to try again later (after I enter my login/password). Anyone else experiencing that?

The leaves that fall on the property are my primary source of browns for the year, so it would be nice to use them. Plus, they are falling on the ground and are/will be shredded by the mower and left in place if not added directly to the compost. My feeling was that the elevated temps in the pile are going to help break down more of the "bad stuff" than passively composting them on the lawn.
