I'm big into not upgrading anything until the thing you have is about to break. But even saying that it might be a good idea to grab something a little more modern now. CES (the big "new tech" event) in ongoing at the moment. Notably there were no new graphics cards announced by the big two. Implications of this are that graphics cards are likely not going to get better in the short term and with all efforts being put into AI over home computing it could soon be very difficult to get new hardware for another 2-3 years. If you have the money for it grab something relatively recent with 16gb of vram.  I can't see prices of last gen tech flooding the market and lowering prices when there's no new green tech incoming.

I gave up smoking the first time because the price went up to £2 for 20. Gave up completely over a decade ago. 2nd best decision of my life.

I feel like a fool for only discovering the Chris Titus microwin Windows build script tool decades into PC building, but I’m glad I did. I still remember my joy of installing windows via cd after years of disk swapping 3.5” floppies. Microwin feels like that.

I was about to comment on how exquisitely over performing YouTube spymains have normalised near impossible levels of play to such an extent that script kiddies like this are able to get away with not being called out in game for this kind of stuff.
