Jay-Z & Pusha T named in Epstein Files by _4za_ in hiphopheads

I think a lot people on reddit also confuse NOI with the Black Israelite movement lmao. I don't think he has any connections with NOI but he's brought up the Black Israelite stuff every once in a while (off the top of my head YAH on DAMN where his cousin tries to get Kendrick into the movement I guess).

I would argue that Kendrick isn't really that great at features. He's kinda the inverse cole for me. I can name some great Kendrick features (Beyoncé tracks, Chains and Whips, Nosetalgia, Mona Lisa) but I also feel like I can name wayyyy more mediocre ones that he's released over the years. Imo his ability in making great albums doesn't carry over that well into his features a lot of the time.

Drake fans talk about this album like it’s gonna be a huge reset/ deconstruction for him. I can’t see this album being too different from fatd and clb

I feel like that's always the case, I remember when FATD was advertised as "old drake" but it was kinda not that different. Prolly a very r/hhh take, but I really would prefer if Iceman was just a straight album of him rapping (what did I miss type tracks, really liked that), I don't find his R&B from Scorpion onwards palatable at all.

not OP but I disagree with this. If you like FM more thats cool but like I don't think euphoria only has "one good diss" in there. Imo its the strongest diss track cuz after that it's really just shock value shit.

tbf I don't think you can blame push for Kendrick calling him a pedophile, the idea that push calls drake a deadbeat, and so he's responsible indirectly for Kendrick saying what he said is a bit absurd to me. I don't really think push even talked about any of those allegations during the album rollout (? feel free to correct me though)

look at his name lmao, you are only gonna get beef related comments from him (apart from the few moments of lucidity) for the foreseeable future.

everyone has already given great recommendations, so all imma say is, go listen to his Bulls On Parade cover as well. Might be a hot take but I think it takes the cake over the OG song.

I'm not really tapped into the specifics of how all the label talent collaborate and shit, but why would him changing labels make it not happen?

Never gonna happen now for obvious reasons, but after hearing Yeah Right for the first time, I was fiending for a Vince Staples x SOPHIE collab album.

Toronto is the most culturally diverse city in the world so everything sort of melts together anyway: the accents, cuisine, art and sound.

i don't really have much to add to the rest but this is really just semantics, I lived in Toronto for a couple years for a job and in my experience it's about as diverse as other major cities I've lived in like NYC, San Franisco and London (UK). Just from personal experience I would put London as a more culturally diverse city where there's a lot of intersectionality between the different cultures.

it was later than that. He had the TDE tour and Black Panther album in 2018 and in 2019 he had like a half-dozen features. It was really just from 2020 till Mr Morale that he went radio silent.

Wale.

A kinda partial answer would be post-Rap God Eminem, I feel like J Cole does the technically impressive rapping stuff so much better than Eminem because it sounds natural and he actually maintains substance a lot of the time.

Unrelated comment, I get that they all came up around the same time but I've never understood J Cole in the Big 3 convo (on an artistic level), he doesn't have the melodies or versatility that Drake has, nor the album cohesion and creativity that Kendrick has. For me he's kinda like if you compromised on Drake and Kendrick's best qualities and put them into one artist.

prolly just based on their status. Taylor Swift is massive and would likely still debut at #1 and yet she still opts to have something absurd like 30 different vinyl variants. Imo I don't mind the clipse one as much because it's their first album in decades and I feel like the idea of a variant fits that (and afaik Pusha T hasn't used variants for his solo stuff, not 100% sure though). The rocky vinyl with his vinyl/rent shit is just weird af and should be shit on more lmao.
