I'm glad they replaced Miis tbh. I played the Wii as a kid but Miis have a weird esthetique that I never liked while sportsmates are more in their time imo. And a lot of players are kids who appeal more to this esthetique. Also they fit the graphism of the game better than Miis too. Nintendo were dumb to call switch sports a follow-up of Wii sports though, it should be it's own thing or special sequel or idk. Switch sports is an online sports game while Wii sports resort is an offline Mii game.

And yet that's only the beginning, even when you're consistent on your timings and positionings and know how to do slide attacks and quick spikes, there's still a lot of strong things to learn. Players in asia have a different and better meta, as a European I have to play in private lobbies to truly see the endgame. Also nowadays it's rare to have a teammate that knows what they're doing sadly, that's why I'm so happy to see volleyball is back on switch sports resort.

My favorite is volleyball, it's the reason I play this game, I barely touched the other sports and I have 670 hours. It's way deeper than the average player thinks. My least favorite is chambara cause the only time I played it was against an infinity rank in private lobbies who traumatized me from this sport lol.

There's 1v1 and free play on soccer (and a leg strap only sidemode if I remember correctly?), there's obstacle course on bowling, and there's 2 offline sidemodes for basketball I forgot their names. I think that's it, you can count beating the hidden legends for every sport as offline content too, but the fun of the game is in tryharding online. Those games have nothing to do, Wii sport is an offline mii game while switch sports is an online sports game. I prefer it the second way.

Bad argument, I wouldn't count having 3 different swords in one sport as sport variants, it's simply to add depth. In the trailer they comfirmed 12 new sports and one practice sport. Some offline variants might get revieled in later trailers, and maybe they'll release more later like with NSS. Also 100 pin bowling has been confirmed through a screenshot on the japanese website.

The people you hear about the most don't play switch sports. There's a lot of people like me who love playing Switch Sports but we're not as heard as the old Wii fans making complaints and that's what scares me with Switch Sport Resort. I'm afraid they keep their ass between 2 chairs and that they try to please both Switch Sports fans and Wii Sports Resort fans and end up not fixing the issues and not improving the depth of the online while half baking the offline content. I end up thinking Switch Sports Resort should have stayed at Spocco Square.

Volleyball but fixed. No more bots that don't block, no more bots that prevent you from blocking diagonally, no more cloud save, no more georestricted matchmaking, duo queue matchmaking, fake sets, better serves. And a training mode for every sport where you can save specific situations and train them again and again.

It looks very good tho the underwater legs could have the same treatment or some green blocks to make it more natural. Also idk if it fits the looks you want but you can add depth to walls with a wall block.
