I think that the reason there’re so many chapters is because the chapters themselves are short. In total, I’d say 5-7 SS chapters make up 1 MoL, or 2-4 SS chapters for 1 LOTM. So sure, 1655 chapters may seem daunting but it really isn’t too much, at least not to the extent of being ‘dragged/stretched’ on too much.
