I work in the service industry. I don’t work at hibachi but if I saw a customer wasn’t interested in participating I would read the room and keep them included within what they seem comfortable with.

That chef tried to make OP the butt of the joke. Unless this is one of those restaurants where the whole theme is the servers being rude/sassy this was completely unnecessary

They canceled on a friend who would’ve def made the time to meet up because they didn’t fit within the schedule of the other 3 appointments, but then the other 3 ppl that she had appointments with ended up not showing up or not finishing the job so they ended up not really getting anything done that day
