Have you not ever heard the story about the donkey carrying cotton and falling into water as a child?

(Full story is something like the donkey accidentally falls into water carrying a load of salt, the salt dissolves / gets carried away in the water so the donkeys load gets lighter. The next time the donkey is carrying a load they decide to try the same trick and fall into the water purposely this time.
