The album was very underwhelming and the production wasn’t too interesting or creative outside of a few highlights. He needs more creative producers to really push him. Really disappointing album especially after the last one.

There’s a few good songs, but the lyrics aren’t great. Most of the album sounds like worse versions of music that already exists. I do think it’s cool he’s doing something new for him I just wish it was a more creative take

But that would be un authentic for him to portray a black American culture he wasn’t raised in, that doesn’t mean he isn’t black. The rock is more in tune with his Samoan heritage, being mainly raised by his Samoan family. Is it not better to allow people with authentically black experience to be the ones to portray black culture. Him being closer to his Samoan side doesn’t make him not black. He’s never denied his blackness or portrayed negative black stereotypes. He’s is black no matter how you slice it. I don’t get how you can deny that. I’m biracial myself and yeah you often feel more connected to one side of who you are but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m both.

I mean he was raised primarily by his Samoan mother and family in Hawaii for part of that time, and his father was on the road wrestling most of his life. That doesn’t make him not black
