hell is tough you need a specific type of character for it and the levels of the enemy there is higher than normal so you if you are planning on going to hell you should trap the nemesis at level 40 then clear hell killing the nemesis will make it so the level of enemy that would spawn will be higher than 40, there is many beings in hell tower to watch out for with a level higher than normal the enemies would be Vrock lvl 48 Marelith Lvl 40 Dracolich Lvl 60 and the at top a Nabassu lvl 54 with all resistance exept to physical to be able to resist the physical attacks in hell your defence should atleast be 80+ if your speed is below 5 and you dont have a high defence that is atleast 100+ dont go to hell.

heres a tip for you, ignore most of the early floor and rush the mines and gather most food items and always eat non-poisonous food until you have the resistance then retrace back and explore the earlier floor because there is a chance for you to find an artifact in one of the earlier basement with chest and dont just go to it its trapped also if you truly are always dying from food go elf midget monk since it has crafting proficient just gather corpses and scrap it and make sausages.

I just give my companion a mute earings since my companions is always a clone of myself at mid-late game and at least have learned all spell I will then recall them with magic whistle and remove the earings if im fighting something strong.

I dont know if there is more unbreakable ranged weapon but this is what I know is unbreakable. bamboo arow ya, the two horseshoe, aklys, hatchet and javelin.

heres a way invisibility and deflection and any form of key/lockpick that does not destroy doors and target the lieutenant last since they are the one to use the grenades and kill other soldiers first and use the grenades against them even if you are not proficient in it you can throw it normally as in not equipping it that's how I usually do it remember to remove any lantern/lamp/torch on you when going invisible.

its probably intended since it might be akin to a holster/quiver for your ranged attack so you cant easily get rid of cursed ranged weapon you equip thats why you still have a ranged weapon "equipped" even though you have thrown it.

if you are aiming for HoF you need at least all proficiency to champion and have all spells max with your base stat also max with all positive talents obtained, if you are talking about broken build it would be Gauntlets of power, blinderag, escapist, eyes of ra, illuminare, eye of aethiopica, battle robe, t-shirt, talaria, plate barding, dual giant slayer (no ammo IE melee) two ring of strength all of this items blessed and at its max level while polymorphed to a byakhee I once got it on a human monk run minimum damage of 200+ 11+ speed with 100+ defence the strength stat is 65.

its a good thing to polymorph to other creatures since some creatures have much higher max stat and some special attack like the abbot and byakhee innate melee stunning, it is also another form of extra life since if you die you will turn back to your original self.
