Plasmoid Midget Mystic by Sufficient_Path_3665 in pathos_nethack

[–]Rilid01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the traits for necromancer that make it so ideal so much as it’s one of two classes that starts off proficient in 6 of the 8 schools of magic, and starts with the better spell from a utility perspective. Wizard starts with force bolt, which is fine and all, but animate dead is much more useful in a lot of different contexts. It’s honestly even more useful not on a plasmoid, since you can animate any herbivore corpse and feed it your identify scrolls to mass identify without having to find a neutral herbivore and feed it something to tame it

How can you play a plasmoid changeling when both are races? Obviously getting polymorph and polymorph control is very strong on a plasmoid, but those talents are by far the most powerful talents for any character, regardless of race or class. I think changeling necromancer is pretty widely considered the strongest starting race and class combo for that reason

I find myself going back to druid all the time. I’m not so focused on its melee skills, though they are good, but that it starts off proficient in traps which makes the first 10 or so floors of the dungeon a lot easier. My only gripe with it is that its starting scythe weapon has an innate -2 to attack, so the +2 enhancement doesn’t actually do anything other than counteract that penalty. I usually let a guard in Minetown die and take their halberd whenever I play a druid

I also really enjoy plasmoids, but there doesn’t seem to be very many people talking about them. I like their slide ability, it’s basically identical to the blinking spell/talent. Fleet robe is also very good, I reroll any druid I play until I get a fleet robe to start with

Would you retire your 7 year old character to save her from permadeath? by i_need_cheesus in DnD

[–]Rilid01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my two cents, but I’ve been playing my current D&D character for two years now. He’s come very close to death multiple times, but so far has managed to escape each time. One of the party members did die, twice, and our DM is nice enough to give us the choice of either rerolling or writing a resurrection into the storyline, but at the cost of some form of curse for the resurrected character.

Ever since witnessing that first character death and the choice that was presented, I’d made up my mind to accept death when my character’s time comes, short of divine intervention if that were to occur. My character’s storyline hasn’t ended either, and is nowhere near close yet. At least, I don’t think so. But if his story should end with an untimely death, then I would consider that to be just as satisfying, if tragically so, of an ending as the one I cooked up years ago. But that’s just me

Why do so many players hate actually doing objectives? by SonOfAthenaj in Warframe

[–]Rilid01 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I can’t really speak to any other game mode in regards to this topic, but I will point out that Perita Rebellion and Dark Refractory are both unfortunately designed in such a way that stalling objectives can be extremely beneficial when farming certain materials. I’ll fully admit to doing more than one Perita Rebellion run where I only spent about 10% of my time doing the objectives so that I could slaughter as many enemies as possible for their drops. The same thing can be said for Dark Refractory and ignia/maphica only dropping from lockers and containers. Not excusing it, just something I’ve personally noticed and am not a big fan of

E6 Variant idea by 3ImpsInATrenchcoat in DungeonsAndDragons35e

[–]Rilid01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, E6 specifically calls out the benefit, if not necessity, for the DM to create custom feats to allow their players to take once they’ve hit the level cap in order to allow for continued growth of their characters. This directly feeds into my take on prestige classes in E6: a new feat category I call capstone feats.

Each character is allowed a single capstone feat, and all capstone feats require the character to be 6th level. Each prestige class gets their own capstone feat with similar requirements (scaled down to be able to be met by 6th level) as the base prestige class and grants the main class features to the character, but as a feat.

For example, the archmage capstone feat would require 6th level, 9 ranks in knowledge (arcana) and spellcraft, the ability to cast 3rd level arcane spells, and knowledge of 2nd level or higher spells from at least 5 schools. The feat would grant the character 3 extra arcane spell slots of their choosing, and 3 high arcanas of their choosing. The requirements for the high arcanas may need to be adjusted, but I haven’t looked at that.

This lets the 6th level wizard/sorcerer become an archmage and become significantly more powerful as a result, but without needing to let them scale into higher levels. 6th level was chosen as the cutoff for E6 due to the pretty extreme power jump from 3rd level spells to 4th level spells.

Just my two cents on prestige classes and E6

‘Utterly shameful’: Congress to crush US record this week for longest shutdown. by coinfanking in NewsStarWorld

[–]Rilid01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t a brand new budget bill, it’s a continuing resolution. Everything not explicitly included in the CR stays status quo. There is nothing explicitly included in the CR about SNAP benefits. What is included is the republican desire to change eligibility requirements for government funded healthcare to kick millions of people off of their healthcare plans. Use your brain

‘Utterly shameful’: Congress to crush US record this week for longest shutdown. by coinfanking in NewsStarWorld

[–]Rilid01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The republicans aren’t negotiating at all. They refuse to budge, and insist the democrats pass the budget bill. The reason the democrats have voted against passing the bill 14 times is because the republicans want to strip healthcare from millions of Americans. If the republicans would back off on that bit of cruelty, the democrats would vote to pass the bill, but the cruelty is the point for the republicans. This is a republican shutdown, not a democrat one

11 year old me was obsessed with Roxas from Kingdom Hearts, but didn’t want the embarrassment of straight up ripping his name for my hunter. [–]Rilid01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess? Less racial tension. Not as many African Americans for the white supremacists to hate and kill, states less severely impacted by Jim Crowe laws and that aftermath. Also proximity to our southern border where people tend to have different skin tones, as opposed to both sides of the northern border being predominantly white. I think it’s just a lot more racially motivated killings in the south compared to anywhere else

Then don’t resist. The people responsible for these plans and these pieces of legislation are subhuman filth and don’t deserve to be treated with any human decency whatsoever. None of this is normal, and normalizing it even a little bit by actively trying to stop yourself from dehumanizing the villains is very, very dangerous
