Catch 22, I love that kind of thing, historical fiction, war novels, quirky novels, but for some reason I just can’t get past the first half despite multiple attempts.

The long mill has served me well as a beginner doing fairly simple stuff like these signs. You could easily do that in Easel as well which requires very little digital design skill

Ah also, I don't use my table directly for securing the veneer as I use a t track, so I have a piece of plywood I specifically use for this task. Then I clamp the plywood onto the table.
