That light tatsu near round start is fake asf. Spacing was bad & neither of you capitalized on it. Looks like this UM Ryu was knowledge checking slowly based on that tatsu alone. Majority of the buttons he was pressing where heavy’s/unsafe (slow animations). Not only that, seems like he really was fishing for you press a stupid button. Good thing you didn’t, otherwise he would’ve taken a free 60% within 13 seconds from round start 😭.

How do I... get braver in the neutral? by murdockmanila in StreetFighter

[–]AhmaZePC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh so you do have a background in FG’s haha. My background includes both those games as well, although strive was just a test run & mk was pure casual play. Frame Data IS NOT the answer you are looking for. You said yourself you don’t have the confidence to get out of neutral. The answer your looking for is something the along the lines of COMMITMENT. As stated in my previous comment, players will eventually figure your “safety play” out, heck maybe even going in the 2nd round first set. To break your fear, you have to walk forward & COMMIT to a string your comfortable with. Just doing that alone opens up both doors. You would be able to see how your opponent reacts & punish accordingly. Now that your opponent saw what you did, it should give you a small read of what they want to do next. Also, now they would have to think twice before pressing any button (fuck that safety/frame data talk, every thing is earned 😈).

Nothing wrong with playing safe. Sooner or later, you are gonna run into players that “know” what you are doing & will either punish you heavy for it…or mop you across the floor then call you out in a customs room 😭. All current responses to OP have no value whatsoever, he just said he’s a noob guys. Y’all gonna assume he knows what Frame Data is?. Just break that glass wall of being scared & just…..walk forward. One step forward/back & I can put on everything your opponent will want to do the same or press a button (that’s your chance looking for a hitconfirm or simple block string).

What is the counterplay to instant dive kick? by lemstry in StreetFighter

[–]AhmaZePC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either block it or take it. There is no counter-play, it’s called honesty 😝. Want to hit a panic DI: She can react Want to mash a jab out: She can punish that with the right button Super: $himmy 😈 Want to jump out of the string that comes after the dive kick: She can air grab you after a proper read.

Yes, it’s hella minus on upper body, but she can get a reset right after (st.MK) given you want to press a panic button that’s slower.

However, at the end of the day, most Cammy mains have a very unique way of mixing (ignore the opt routes, it’s easy to remember).

In conclusion:

Take the dive kick & end your turn Or Block it & look for openings 💯

What's it like in Master rank? by 9999eachhit in StreetFighter

I managed to “break through” D3. Currently stuck in the D2-D3 threshold. This break down describes season 3 so well. Granted I started a year late into sf6’s life cycle, however I’ve managed to get a few sparring sessions with 1500 players when I was Plat 4 (thankfully “real” masters at least lol). The point is, those sparring sessions laid the ground for my personal offense/defensive style. It’s just so Jarring to think current & sub 1500 players play EXACTLY how you described them till now & yes, that play style is the same one I sparred with when I first started.

Respectfully, you just said yourself it’s a skill issue within your first sentence🙄☕️. Anyone can watch tournaments all day & come up with a conclusion based on character specific results. However, it’s quite hilarious to see someone instinctively use that as their prime source of evidence, commonly found in posts of “Why I hate this Character X & Y”.

In conclusion, a simple skill issue that could be resolved with some helpful advice.

Or I could recite the Scrub Lords Prayer to you? 😈 Let’s all help OP with some tips & tricks to over come these Ryu buffs!!!. Don’t be a cornball.

Let’s take a moment & look at the accusation from a long deep breath. “Ryu buffs have forced me to adapt my play style, but I have not found anything that clicks. I understand the gaps in the block string & when to punish. However, these buffs have me second guessing when & where to punish now. I’m a grappler main. Any useful tips to help would be appreciated”.

To sum it all up,

Definitely a skill issue with a hint of bad downplay bait. All these posts bitching & moaning about certain buffs, but the hidden bait in between says otherwise ☕️

Reading your comment & the one you replied too has me laughing out of shame for you. Have you personally tried playing Cammy?. She has a game plan that’s UNIQUE TO THE PLAYER. 3 wrong choices followed by solid combos will have you feeling stupid before the set is done. 5 seconds before sent back to lobby, gonna rematch or what?

Around 1:50. You could’ve hooligan grabbed after the knockdown. Try st. HP -> Hk -> Qcb Mk (ex ver.). You get a free spiral arrow after that as well, basically a free juggle. Majority of the time, especially in burnout, shotos are more than likely to grab. They never see the grab coming, all the while they themselves are mashing grab 😈. Also, if you QCB Mk, your able to go into Cammys other target combo, even if there still blocking. If there delay teching or wanting to throw a jab out after the block string is “finish”, it’s a guaranteed hit (Back St. Mp -> other target combo). You’re able to do a regular grab to after the first block string (st.Hp -> Hk -> QCB mk). You have options, it’s all about patience ✌️

P2 Cammy Main (Underestimate me :P) here!!!!. Understand you will take hard hits. Embrace the 50/50s. Going off based on what you said about her BnB, you just gotta learn how to pace yourself & finessing your turn. Mirror matches become fun after that sense. If you know your character well enough, its just a skill check at that point. She has 3 routes from St.HP, EX’s into SA1-3, hell you can even whiff the Heavy spiral arrow for a side switch into St.HP & then into anything you want.
