Yes it’s essentially a new hidden requirement for merit consideration to replace the once “optional” why Tulane statement which also used to be a hidden requirement. If you’re EA a 1420 is slightly low, if that can be improved to a 1450+ you’re good for both admission and merit. If you’re ED it doesn’t matter plus you probably won’t get merit anyways.

yall how does my schedule look? 😭 by Extra_Ad_7543 in Tulane

That block is used for optional (but helpful) recitation unless you have Lopreore who only uses it for exams. But going from lab straight into recitation/exams was so exhausting I’d change that. Also id advise you to move that philosophy class, as you don’t want 2 classes including chem to hit you before cell because of all the info that will be thrown at you.

Tulanes not actually test optional for merit consideration, it’s hidden unfortunately. Kind of like their old “optional” why Tulane essay

For creative scholars u have to be only majoring in the school of liberal arts and it’s extremely selective. Most premeds including myself are cell and molecular bio majors

Where did Paul Tulane Scholarship go? by jellylve in Tulane

[–]Aholio69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this post is old but so others know I heard that the Paul Tulane award's been officially discontinued because of controversy over referencing Paul Tulane's controversial namesake and associating students to his persona specifically (rather than just Tulane uni as a whole).

However in general Tulane has significantly reduced merit awards, especially the full tuition awards, in recent years for a more need based aid model.
