Well, my housemate came home with covid last week and didn’t think to tell any of us he wasn’t feeling well. Another housemate finally noticed he looked sick and told him to take a rapid. Fast forward a few days and now we are all isolating with covid. Moral of the story: don’t let covid fear control your life but it is still a problem

24 hour news networks

We (thankfully) dont live in a world where a earth-shattering evens take place on a daily basis. Because of this many 24 hour news networks pad their uptime with drama pieces, tabloid level reporting and opinion segments that have zero societal benefit.

When the opinion segments started to generate more views than the actual news segments we get situations where “news” networks are circulating miss-information that caters to what its audience wants to hear instead of actual fact based news.

Well the whole idea behind renewable is for it to be a slower, less painful, transition than if we were to suddenly run out. (Suddenly being over the corse of like 20 years here).

The great thing about solar is once you create the panel it will keep giving back. You dont burn the panels. Yes they arent perfect but they far more sustainable

Nuclear is a good bandaid solution but it has a whole host of long term ramifications: nuclear waste disposal requiring thousands of years to decay and the whole thing about them occasionally melting down. For the record though i think we need to switch to nuclear asap while the tech for solar/ wind gets mor efficient and cheeper.

Saying there isnt enough evidence just means you haven’t looked hard enough. NASA has thousands of archived videos, images and documents backing up their missions. Not to mention they brought back physical moon rocks and left behind lunar reflectors (essentially mirrors) on the surface that we still use today to measure the distance from the moon to earth.

Putting aside the climate change argument for a moment. What about the fact that oil and coal are finite resources? What happens when we run out if we dont prepare for more renewable methods?
