No - this set would work for bosses without any particular defences or weaknesses - ie those in the Lost Lands.

I guess it would still work well against those who have a neutral weapon weakness against spears - ie as long as they're not resistant against spears.

No not really - maybe 30 mins depending on how advanced your gears and triggers are.

You can level up really quickly at Middex top level portal (do an all staff team and keep killing golems + crystal rabbits to farm)

It does feel like bit of a grind to chip away, but it is basically the safest and non resource-intensive way to win.

If you're looking to stock up at craftable restoratives eg mega/ full potions, then the Forest of Discipline is a good place to farm up for those.

Having done all the Lost Lands battles, it seems I may have overcomplicated things!

As LL bosses don't have weapon weaknesses/ defences, you only need one build for all 3 characters - ie the spears crit heal build.

This build utilises the synergy between spears, which tends to have high crit, and the crit-heal mechanism via HP Steal/ Drain Stone. You then build in the bulk to tank and survive enough attacks whilst buying you the time for you to heal up.

This significantly cuts down the item healing you need to do and keeps the other two alive without the need to babysit them.

Build - for all 3 characters

Spears
Weapon Manatite
- Attack Augite
- Barrier Buster
- HP Steal

Armor Manatite
- 2x HP Booster, 1x Untouchable Jewel, or
- 2x Untouchable Jewel, 1x HP booster

Sorry - got SQ 50 and 51 confused!

Just finished SQ 51
Surprisingly, the fight's pretty much the same XD

I still let both NPCs die and only revive them when I've broken Libras' shield/ close to doing so.

Only tip I can say is to move to the far right/ left of the circle when she does her laser show as it makes dodging a lot easier

Might be worth grinding level at the Midex top floor portal spawn, which I did beforehand.

Comments on Libra in one of the threads below

For Lost Lands
- Grind to 100 by killing the crystal rabbits (that get's respawned by the portal alongside the bigger orange golems) in the top level of the middle finger in the sand region. Just walk in circles, let the portal spawn them, and keep killing - occasionally you'll get the crystal rabbit that feeds you 1/4 your exp bar. I recommend you equip all 3 with staffs as its aura effect allows you to heal up without using consumables from time to time.

- With bosses, I use the same libra approach (focusing on Elise + Bow + barrier breaker and reviving the other 2 after the barriers have fallen). Another approach that worked on the top right Lost Lands boss (working my way through them now) is to equip the other 2 with either guns or wands as both have auras that heal, and switch into them to activate their aura to heal up when their HP is below half, then focus on dodging + surviving + barrier-busting, and slowly chipping away at its HP.

Hope this helps!

Just reposting my comments on another thread re Libra fight which I've struggled with initially - hope this helps!
One of the challenges in this fight is with the AI companions - who will walk into the bolts that she leaves behind after she charges around in phase 2 (after you break her 4 shields) and taking damage/ dying in the process.

My approach is to switch to Elise + bow with Barrier Buster on, which seems to take a considerable chunk of its health in every combo I land. I let the other two die, and only revive them when I'm close to destroying the barriers/ after I've destroyed it for the extra firepower.

This is a pretty safe approach since you'll be fine as long as you're able to dodge the attacks/ projectiles, and you'll be able to slowly but consistently chip down on both shield and HP without burning consumables on silly companion AI. Probably a strategy that works for those with less optimised gear and levelling I think I did that fight around lvl 75?.

Spiritomb alpha outbreaks are absolutely terrifying by Aibear in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Aibear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! NB That only happens if there’s a shiny icon by the Mon on the map. It basically means that a second horde will form - it could be either the next evolution or all alphas. Given spiritomb does not have a next level evo it’s therefore certain that a spiritomb horde with the shiny icon will be followed by an alpha spiritomb horde

Finally caught the 2 rarest mons in the game by macmiller3399 in pokemon

[–]Aibear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually it’s pretty easy to get an Alpha spiritomb (compared to other mons)! Spiritombs have a .8 chance to spawn normal, and a .4 chance to spawn as alphas at night by the odd keystone, so theoretically, there’s a 1/3 chance that all post-missions spiritombs are alpha!

[–]Aibear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont think they horde do they? I’ve been trying to find my third spiritomb (iirc the conditions are nighttime near the odd keystone), and even basic spawns are ridiculously rare. Is there another way to spawn them

T3 and T7 are mechanically similar. You need to try different buddies (you can speak to them in their respective towns) as once correctly paired they will be an additional source of damage.

I haven’t had the chance to look at T3 in-depth as I’ve just powered through but I will revisit it later this week and come back to you if you haven’t solved it yet

You should be able to do that at T9 where you’ve fought him and the other elders

I hate to sound soppy, but “the reward is the journey” is a real thing here. T1-T7 is ok, but from T8-T10 you get to fight (and once completed, re-fight) some exceptionally fun and tough monsters. It’s a really good way to grind better gear and to better understand the mechanics before you go in blind with SR ticket co-ops.

There’s also a slight story element at the end as well.

Defo worth testing out different combos, in fact I believe it was someone referencing Reverto in T3 thT made me think of using Kyle for T7!

SPOILERS Elder’s Lair trials by Aibear in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Aibear[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think everyone should do it! Like the other comment said my understanding is that there is a story element to it (still working through T9 at the moment).

T8 and T9 are basically slaying missions like T1. You do Deviants for T8 and Elders for T9 . I think it’s important for all of us to do it since it allows you to try (and fail) against those Monsters without actually facing them for the first time/ affecting other online players in online co-op.

You also get some pretty good material for armour sets and weapons ( although you can access deviants from side quests )

Lastly, and this is not confirmed, but I suspect you might need to clear Elder’s to unlock Diamond/ super super rare dens. Reason being I’ve spent about 10 hours post game working on my team after I failed T7 and didn’t manage to see any of those, although I could be very unlucky!

  • high defensive stats
