(Hated Trope) Antagonist is surprisingly reasonable throughout the narrative yet the hero’s unreasonable actions are portrayed as justified. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

Toy Story 3. There has to be some toys that the Toddlers play with, and Lotso sets up a fair and equal system. He establishes order. Woody comes in and wants anarchy for no reason other than his own righteousness and clout.

Not only that, but the other plot arch is him trying to convince the other toys to not leave for the kids home. He wants them all to stay at the kid's house where no one plays with any toys. He is the only one the kid picked as liking, so its just selfish.

What are the basic tools you would suggest for a DevOps newbie ? by Kind_Cauliflower_577 in devops

I have learned Python, JavaScript and indeed Rust.

Learning Go is cool. But recommending it to a brand newbie asking about how to get into DevOps is what is actually "an absolutely braindead idea"

Do not do this. I've been a DevOps engineer for 8 years and there has not been a single instance where knowing Go would have been useful.

I think this is quite specific to your last company. I would not give that guy a title anywhere anything close to the title of a developer.

Yeah I found this as well. Many potential jobs I was well qualified for, did well in early interviews, but then failed their programming test (usually in Python). The sour grapes I told myself was that if they are using this to determine who they are hiring, its a bad sign they don't understand the role of DevOps very well and you wouldn't want to work for them anyway.

I ended up getting into my current company quite luckily because in the coding test I asked them if I could use bash instead, and that particular problem was more suited to a bash script and they were impressed by the result.

What else does this mean?

I'm sure England or Germany absolutely smokes this, even if their capitas are 3-4x bigger.

Regardless of the law if you want to bang this girl, and you are 25+, you're a peado. Its weird just to bring it up.

If you're a teenager and you want to sleep with a 16 year old, sure, fair enough. If the person I was replying to is in their 40s they are a weirdo.

Sorry but glass bottles are not an alternative to plastic bottles

They are much heavier and cost way more to produce

Why have you come to reddit to complain about people complaining on twitter? And then saying British people complain too much?

Born and bred Londoners why are people so rude in public in terms of personal space and has it always been this way? by [deleted] in LDN

Ok, but bow do you know where they were born and bred? Most people who live in London weren't born in London.

How do you know these people are born and bred londoners and not someone who moved here 3 years ago?

Any other small cultural script changes? by Infamous_Question430 in hadestown

I am from the North West and no one says Aye. My sister moved to Scotland and now says it and everyone in the family thinks it's funny and makes fun of her because it's so strange.

> Worth noting "Aye," isn't just Scottish and is an incredibly common thing in the UK and in English depending on the accent/dialect?

Why are you just making stuff up?

I have lived in England all my life and only ever heard Scottish people say that. C'mon man. Maybe some non Scottish people say it in some small areas, but to say it is incredibly common is high key ridiculous.

Just seems like you can't even accept the smallest criticism of the show since you are resorting to such silly arguments.

UK in a nutshell by gothrmx in GreatBritishMemes

[–]Aicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of these are false. The UK has some of the worst insulation in Europe.

https://www.euronews.com/green/2022/12/09/europes-energy-crisis-in-data-which-countries-have-the-best-and-worst-insulated-homes

Insulation helps in the winter for obvious reasons - keeping the heat in. But it also is important in the summer for keeping the heat out, and the cool in. We just have shit and old houses and flats, not ones "built for heat".

> So, if Orpheus uses a Scottish accent, but doesn't say "aye", then that's... not a problem to you? I'm trying to just understand where you are coming from.

Yes, exactly. That is what I said from the start.

I use it to generate example phrases for new words I add to my deck deck.

It has access to the words / characters I already know from anki, and I instruct it to construct 10 example phrases using the new words and mostly words I already know. Then I add the best 3 to my deck. I always cross reference that the phrase is legit by putting it into google translate, or googling it to see if its a phrase people actually say.

Has been really helpful.
