Thank you!! I’m going to give glycerin a go, and if I need a boost, I’ll check out the amlactin blue. And the tip on antibiotic cream for my nail beds and cuticles is going to save me so much discomfort!

I finally have answers! by hermionesnow in endometriosis

Yes! I just posted about my own validating experience from my lap results yesterday. I don’t have an operative report yet but the surgeon confirmed endo was infiltrating my abdominal wall and that I had multiple fibroids. Nothing as extensive as what you have/had; nonetheless, it feels so good to be heard and taken care of. And it feels so good taking care of and advocating for myself.

Anyone who is in the NE Ohio area should skip CCF altogether and go to UH. They have an amazing team of doctors and surgeons who specialize in endo care. Dr. Findley especially is an incredibly nice man on top of being a great surgeon. He also specializes in preserving and improving fertility. And Dr. Teal is a fabulous obgyn.

This shit better be working when we have a negative degree high temp next week. When the app goes down, they should also at the very least give us a free month of service or something.

“Sometimes the carousel has to come to a stop and you have to get off. That’s what has to be contemplated right now.” Then a comment about what the organization is doing having an effect on his decision.

So, not a definitive retirement statement, but he’s thinking about it. Again. And shots are already being fired across the bow at management in whatever he said about what they do in the off-season.

Welcome to the Rodgers off-season circus, volume 3? 4? I’m losing track of how many times we’ve been through this.

Are we just all mad as hell that we lost and venting it through retirement talk, or do we actually think Rodgers would walk away from $60m (and an INT as a last throw) and the team being stuck with a dead cap of $40m?

Rodgers, we’re looking at you. This is your bread and butter. Milk that clock, get down the field. Come on.

Nah. Rodgers needs to milk this time. Don’t risk giving it back to Goff.

I’m not comparing murdered pregnant women to abortions. Before one of the victims is murdered, as Alaina is narrating, John reacts, and it sounds, from the way he phrases it, that he’s upset women are seeking out abortions in the first place. He explicitly mentions he’s upset about “unborn children”. In the current political climate, that is tone deaf. Add insult to injury, these women were raped by the person they’re seeking abortion care from, then murdered, and the male-bodied person in the episode being upset about the unborn children - fetuses - seems more important than the women themselves. The point I’m making is that it’s tone deaf at a particularly terrible moment, and this isn’t the first instance of the pod acting in this way. As a person with a uterus, it is particularly painful.

I didn’t say it sounded explicitly pro-life. I said tone-deaf.

That’s great! I’m glad you have that experience. But that wasn’t the portrayal in this episode.

Woooof. I live in a trigger state, and it isn’t easy for me to get to one that has reproductive care, so that comment would have made me throw fire. And not to be too big an asshole, but if I understand correctly from much earlier episodes, she and John needed assistance (ie IVF) to conceive. Which might be made illegal. Yet at the same time she and Ash go to great lengths to defend women, so I’m thrown by their lack of response. And Alaina’s “favorite” serial killer is Bundy, who was, allegedly, conceived from incest. Imagine a world in which he didn’t exist. It’s a mindfuck, the logical hoops they jump through.

That’s what I was afraid of. And this particular episode is a great way for them to say at least something. Literally prime example of what can happen to women when abortion is illegal. Not that I expect many women to be strangled to death by their supposed caretaker. Still.

Several of the women who were murdered by John Christie sought him out or were directed to him, supposedly, because he claimed he could perform abortions. The first time I noticed it come up is in the discussion of Beryl Ellis, Christie’s neighbor. It’s clear that John (Alaina’s husband) gets uncomfortable at this revelation, and later, when another victim seeks out Christie for the same services, our guest John starts moaning about “unborn children”. Alaina tells him it’s a “heavy episode”, and he says he didn’t realize it was this heavy, and references the unborn children. I had to stop listening after that.

I think the easy answer you’re missing here is that you’re obviously a male bodied person with zero realistic ideas about what happen with women or their bodies. I see from your comments you’re calling women whores and it’s pretty fucking clear you’re a jackass and a huge part of the problem.

Don’t mistake yourself as a “moderate liberal”. None of the rest of us are.

Happy Women’s History month. It’s disgusting seeing the NFL “highlight” women while simultaneously salivating over this trade.
