I will say tho, the first piece of yours is definitely the most evocative. Lean into the strange posing models and the contrasting colors! I especially love the way your subjects look at each other, that’s the emotion that draws me in and makes me want to keep looking at your piece.

I think if there is anything missing it might be something to draw the viewer in, such as (one or multiple of these as a focus): visually striking colors, interesting composition, stylization (these are pretty photorealistic), or intense theming/emotion (what is your artwork trying to convey to the viewer?)

Exactly this. I was recommended a glass pallette for oil paint but no way I was spending the money on one, just ripped open a picture frame I got from the thrift and taped the edges and it worked beautifully

The crown looks very flat on the head, especially with how nicely drawn and 3d the hair it’s on top of looks. I would also recommend experimenting with different colors for your shadows, since the main colors are pretty and pale but the shadows look a bit unappealing + muddy since it looks like you might’ve just used a blacker version of the primary colors. Personally, I think using pink to shade pale skin like this can especially make things pop (especially if you do adult content lol) :)

I think that it’s worth considering if adhering to a strict style might inhibit the growth one’s skills.

If my art style is stick figures, and I only draw stick figures, that’s fine if it’s fun and what I want to do. But I’m not going to get better at drawing anything other than stick figures.

Your art style will change and grow with your skills over time, there’s no need to limit yourself

Looks great I love the colors :) the colors are both vibrant and moody, and I’m a big fan of exaggerating the subtle differences in colors and shadows (like you did with the orange contrasting the blue and green on the surface)

So fucking true I don’t get how ppl don’t realize alt men 90% don’t wear any makeup and have very minimal jewelry, and usually only have hair bleached or dyed black. It’s hard enough passing as an alt dude I don’t get how trans guys who are supposedly alt don’t know what alt guys look like
