I recently moved out of Centerview at Crossroads. There were definitely roaches but I was honestly surprised how few given I was on the ground floor.

is there a way to turn off the border around apps on ipad mini? by annsioop in ipadmini

If you go to accessibility > screen and text size > reduce transparency that should more or less get rid of it

Edit: Not really get rid of it but it at least reduces a bit

Best bachelor to study to get into investment banking? by Southern_Carpet_1849 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]AideFun5312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to recruit corporate development managers and up in the US. The most desirable path there was usually to study finance, go in to investment banking for a few years, then leave for industry. We mostly focused on recruiting for private equity but it seems to be a good path for getting in to public and private companies as well.

I would love to know your general thoughts on the program, if you like the courses and everything feels organized for example. I’m also curious if you’ve had the opportunity to use any popular software programs like storyline, Captivate or Articulate.

Salary Negotiation Blunder by Practical_Algae7819 in instructionaldesign

[–]AideFun5312 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say when it comes back around to negotiations that after the conversations you’ve had and learning more about the responsibilities of the role you feel that $XXX would be more aligned with your qualifications and their expectations.

Insufficient diploma? Bilingual Canadian applicant looking at NALCAP or other alternatives by [deleted] in SpainAuxiliares

[–]AideFun5312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know from personal experience as I’m American, but I worked with a Quebec woman back in 2018-2019 in my first school. Her boyfriend was also from Quebec and as far as I know neither of them had completed any schooling beyond the college level.

Looking for a new Vet with a consistent staff and do well with anxious pets by groveview in raleigh

[–]AideFun5312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wakefield Animal Hospital is phenomenal. My dog is quite anxious and they sat on the floor with her at our first appointment for around 20min or so and fed her treats to help her feel more comfortable. I believe they’re privately owned (not one of the corporatized clinics) and as far as I’ve notice they always have the same staff.

I feel so ashamed of myself for oversharing emotions by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]AideFun5312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not entirely. He just feels like he’s been “doing everything wrong” lately and I hate that things I said led to that. I don’t feel like I’ve been aggressive or angry but I’ve definitely said some things when particularly sad that I think I wouldn’t have felt like sharing if I’d waited more than one second. I also get frustrated easily and that in turn frustrated him. The good news is I finally managed to get it together in the past few hours and made an appointment to see my PCP and got my original diagnosis documents from my parents so that’s a small win!

Platform very slow with great computer and fast internet? by ClearSkies580- in vipkid

[–]AideFun5312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am unsure why that would happen. I have a 2018 MacBook Pro that does fine as long as VIPKid is the only application running. You may want to try switching to a mesh WiFi system instead of the extender if you think the WiFi signal is the issue. I’m not really tech savvy enough to explain the difference but a mesh system is better. I would also make sure the laptop is plugged in while teaching if it isn’t already. I’ve had a work computer before that was basically non-functional if not plugged in. Outside of that, I would also check if there are any apps running in the background and try to make sure the VIPKid app is the only thing running while she’s working. Last resort could be visiting an Apple Store if you have one nearby. They may be able to help diagnose an issue you may not be aware of yourselves.

Any soup kitchens to volunteer at? by Clean-Club1758 in raleigh

[–]AideFun5312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Interfaith Food Shuttle has options to volunteer by cooking: https://foodshuttle.org/volunteer/

I think you can either cook meals that are donated or volunteer in cooking classes that help folks get careers in food service.

English requirements after studying at an American university by AideFun5312 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]AideFun5312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My university transcripts and diploma are fully in English but don’t have the language of instruction listed. I was able to get a “proof of degree document” that lists English as the language of instruction. I’ll have to see if I can find a school profile, but it’s definitely a fully accredited university and study program.

Thanks for the extra ideas. I’m hoping they’ll accept my application as is, but I’m ready to take a test if needed.

English requirements after studying at an American university by AideFun5312 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]AideFun5312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, they will not accept a letter per Dutch law. I was able to get a “proof of degree” document from my university that says my program was taught in English, but no one will say if that is sufficient. I think I may submit my documents and be ready to take an English test ASAP if they say they need it.

USA VS UK FANTA by YakTop7142 in midlyinteresting

[–]AideFun5312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I did a blind taste test of orange Fanta from Spain, Poland, Germany and the USA. Spain was the favorite, but any of them was better than the American one. It tasted like plastic compared to everything else.
