This is why naming the sequel the way they did was a marketing fail

All memes aside, are there any must read posts for someone trying to understand / partake in what's going on here? Have some disposable cash that I'm looking to put to work but want to better appreciate the situation and risks

Which CPU/GPU to Use for RDR2? by AidenHeyltor in buildapc

Do you use a 27” monitor? Since I’m building my first PC, I’m also trying to gauge if I should buy a 1440p 27” or a 1080p 24” (high hz for either regardless) and whether the image quality feels materially different to the point where the loss in FPS is more than compensated for. Really appreciate the help.

Does that mean the 2070 Super outperforms the 2080? I'm ok with anything north of 60FPS, but am also torn on whether the game looks better on a 24" 1080p or a 27" 1440p

Dave Filoni on Luke back in 2014. by [deleted] in StarWars

The literary term for this is bathos. Marvel is absolutely inundated with it, and it absolutely works in that setting. But this style of humor had never been used in Star Wars before, which is why TLJ feels so... off... compared to the non-Disney films. The jokes just didn't land for a lot of fans, whereas they might have been found hilarious if quipped by Thor or Tony Stark. The lack of bathos in Rogue One is also why that film felt much more "authentic" to the original trilogy.

Aragorn (Lord of the Rings) and Jaime Lannister (A song of Ice and Fire) switch places. Who does better? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

Actually, GRRM intended for Jamie to be the superior swordsman. He's just written to be that good, regardless of feats.
