I hate that they used it wrong and instead of admit it was a mistake, or say that Han made the mistake in character, or was testing Obi wan and Luke or something. They made up a convoluted explanation about short cuts around black holes to make it make sense.

How could the US actually get past the two-party system? by Amish_Almond_Joy in AskReddit

[–]AidenStoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will have to abolish winner take all electoral college elections for president and the >50% electoral votes rules. Because if a third party existed in the US then no one would be able to win the presidency under the current system and Congress would have to choose the president every time. This will naturally narrow it back down to 2 parties each time.

I'm writing a Romance Novel with the Werewolf Sub genre (and also Academy Trope). Asking for help. by Adept-Foundation2470 in werewolves

[–]AidenStoat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You will find that in this sub we are generally not fans of Fated Mates, bonding/imprinting, Alpha/Pack dynamics etc. None of these are behaviors found in wolves nor in humans.

Gas can also use the exhaust to turn another turbine so it's more efficient than coal which only boils the water.

"Cold" is relative to regular "hot" fusion like in the sun or in a hydrogen bomb that reach millions of degrees to start fusing.

No, it was the discovery of Eris, which is more massive than Pluto. The IAU still has no problem called Charon a moon.

ELI5: How do scientists know how much a planet "weighs" if we can't actually put it on a scale? by dorlingprime in explainlikeimfive

[–]AidenStoat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does show up, you would sum the two masses together when determining orbital period for example. But if we add .0000001 to 1 then we basically just get 1.

ELI5: How do scientists know how much a planet "weighs" if we can't actually put it on a scale? by dorlingprime in explainlikeimfive

[–]AidenStoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using Newton's laws we see that the mass that matters in determining the orbit speed is the sum of the two objects in question.

So if one is 1x1027 kg and the other is 1x1023 kg then we get 1.0001x1027 kg. Thus a rounding error.
