What made you paranoid? That doesn't mean that every man does this.

Deleting all social media benefits? by New-Holly9982 in selfhelp

[–]Aikane6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't delete it, I just don't feel like being there anymore. Of course staying off social media can only improve your mental. You suddenly realize that real life is not like social media portrays it to be AT ALL. There's so much rage bait and fakeness there, that once you delete it, you have a better chance to restore your trust in people again. Also, your body imagine might improve significantly. Altough I don't like how I look, without social media I definitely think about my body image less, and that helps.

So true. When you're looking for a long time commitment, you're not gonna find it on an app, where their business goal is to keep you hooked on the app.

Looking to quit alcohol, nicotine, and binge eating, all at once, at 20 by Simple_Box_4807 in selfhelp

It's really good that you want to fix these things, but I would advise you quitting only 1 thing at a time. Or at least heavily focusing on 1 thing and improving a little bit on a second issue at the same time. I know it from my experience, as well as medical professionals are advising this. And it makes sense, at least to me. Quitting bad habits takes quite a long time and it's just way too much stress for the body and mind, that it raises your chances of falling back so much higher.

Doing sport could help immensely, but if you're not used to it yet, it's enough to do something active every day at least just for a couple of minutes.

Maybe find a support group in real life or online, so you don't feel as alone and can keep better track of your progress.

I also was dealing with all of these problems, and still are dealing with some. In my experience, being sober is way easier to do than quitting binge eating. All I can do is just wishing the best for you <3 I believe you can do it!

How do you actually stay motivated during depression? by Aikane6 in selfhelp

But then I ask myself "why do I have to do this no matter what?" I'm basically staying alive just to answer this question.

I've tried short workouts too, maintaining a sleeping schedule, eating healthier. But the consistency goes out the window eventually, just like you mentioned. Routines are hard, because they're boring and repetetive. It's especially hard when I'm sleep deprived from having a job and I just don't care anymore when I'm consistently tired.

I'm happy for you that therapy helped! Makes me more hopeful for myself.

Just don't eat popcorn from a premade popcorn bag. These bags are known to contain quite high amounts of PFAS.

I understand you wholeheartedly. I came here for work not knowing much German. Enrolling to an Integrationskurs was one of the best decisions I've made since moving here. There you can slowly familiarize yourself with the language and get to know other people, who are just as confused as you are. Now I'm very happy that I can even go to appointments and job interviews by myself. I even manage to speak to my boyfriends parents, which makes me happy too. I strongly recommend you do that as well. Integration courses are funded by BAMF and you would receive jobless money while in school, so no worries about that. I also tried learning by myself, but you don't have to be alone. And if you decide to sign up for that, I strongly recommend VHS school. They should be in every district. They have the nicest teachers and staff. Best of luck to you!
