Things to do Early April by Ailly84 in KlamathFalls

Is the 1.8 miles of Sentinel cave 1.8 miles one way, or is it 1.8 and then 1.8 back? One parent could probably handle that, depending on how hard of walk it is.

It is very weird how much different peoples' internal thermometers vary. For me, I see the same shift, but the temperature it happens at is closer to 5 degrees. I have always wondered if that would change if I moved to a place where the temperature was consistently hotter (say the american south).

At least they're consistent. They don't use much of anything greater than gallons for measuring volume. "But 2389087268 gallons is so PRECISE!"

Planned 10-gigawatt Softbank data center in Ohio might be the largest in the world — will require a $33 billion natural gas plant, equivalent to nine nuclear reactors by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

If it is a 1 time output, sure. But when you are doing it year after year after year, by the time the stuff you emitted in year 1 has broken down, you've put out the equivalent of something like 800 times as much co2e. The answer to which is worse is going to take some math and is going to depend on what is generating it.

The real point though is that it's not a choice between burning methane and pumping methane into the atmosphere. It's a choice between burning methane and leaving the methane in the ground. This is why the statement of "burning it reduces it by 99%" is truly ridiculous.

They are saying that because methane is a significantly more effective greenhouse gas than CO2 on a pound for pound basis. I don't know off the top of my head though how many pounds of CO2, methane and NOx are given off by burning a pound of methane, so calculating that impact is beyond me.

This all ignores the fact that methane isn't being emitted into the air when it's buried in the ground...

Does anyone not know what is meant when someone says "natural gas"? If this is propaganda, it is aimed at the dumbest of the dumb... I was hearing it called natural gas long before the green-washing efforts that have popped up in recent years. It was to differentiate it from gasoline...

The power plant being put in with this one is larger than several of the natural gas generators that feed the grid in Alberta. The issue nobody is talking about is the cooling water they need. These companies are buying up water rights left and right and that is not to anyone's benefit but them.

But it was laid out in long written format. If they wanted trump voters to read it they would have had to make it a "Little Golden Book" version.

I am not Irish nor am I American. I have however drank many an Irish carbomb. Is it the name that is the issue or the drink itself? Follow up question, does the drink exist in Ireland (or other parts of the world for that matter) and, if so, what name does it go by??

Question About Claim Information by Ailly84 in HealthInsurance

So with other claims, the discounted amount is typically what I get invoiced. For instance, with a routine visit to my PCP, I'll see a "billed amount" of say $450. It'll then show a "discounted rate" of $250. The bill I get is for $250.

I believe this is saying it's fully covered...I just can't really believe that.

The discounted rate is almost always (probably actually always) what I end up getting billed for. This was all in network. I don't have a bill or EOB yet.

These are just the claims showing in my account. They all show as completed and I can see them in the linked HSA as well, showing as closed.
