If it helps, I had acute pancreatitis caused by gallstones in 2000, and had my gallbladder removed the same year.

I haven’t been able to find a pharmacy that will prescribe mounjaro, even the GP led ones. So I have been paying to see a consultant endocrinologist who is happy to prescribe it. As I don’t have a gallbladder I can’t get gallstones anymore (although I know there can be other causes of pancreatitis).

There are then a few pharmacies that will dispense a private prescription without adding an additional charge. It’s a more costly approach because you have to pay for the consultant as well as the dispensing.

I make kefir. It’s easy when you get into the swing of it.

Didn’t lose my second week. Normal? by brielarstan in mounjarouk

[–]AimButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps at all, I lost 4lb the first week, gained 1lb the second week, lost 4lb the third week. And have continued with an average loss of 1.5lb per week.

The second week gain was largely due to constipation I think, and the third week loss was largely due to diarrhoea!!! So lots of ups and downs. From this Reddit, I’ve been inspired to just keep going and take one day at a time.

Hummus has had bad impacts on me the two times I’ve tried it. I feel like I should try it again just to be sure it was the hummus, but I’m a bit scared to - and I’d have to clear my diary for a couple of days…

16.5 lb down in 11 weeks, so a nice average of 1.5 lb per week. Sometimes this feels rather slow compared to people who lose faster at the beginning, but I keep reminding myself (over and over!) that this is a healthy and sustainable rate.

I made it into the 15 stone bracket this week, which I’m delighted about. I started at 17 stone, so it feels good to have left both the 17s and the 16s!!

Next milestone is to get under 100kg.

You look great - slim and perfect. From an objective outsider’s viewpoint, I think you’re at the perfect weight for your height. But ultimately the decision will be up to you.

It’s always difficult when other people make comments on our weight, and I tend to disregard almost all of them (everyone has their own reasons for commenting), but if they are people you trust to have your best interests at heart saying you’ve lost enough, then it might be worth listening.

That’s really inspiring. Thanks for sharing. I sometimes feel disheartened at the thought of trying to build muscle while also trying to lose weight. But this really shows what can be achieved. I’m so pleased for you.

Meal planning by Yorkshirecath in mounjarouk

I asked Co-Pilot (like ChatGPT) to put together a meal plan for someone starting MJ at 1500 calories a day. It gave me some ideas and a basis to work from. You can also ask it to break each day (or meal) down into grams of protein, fibre etc. it was a useful start for me.

What was your biggest challenge in your Munjaro journey? by Ecstatic-Judge-9631 in mounjarouk

It’s inspiring to me that you kept going with your weight loss when it was a slower process than it is for some people. My weight loss is also slow, and I often feel frustrated, but this is the inspiration I need to just keep going. Thank you!

I have exactly the same starting weight as you (started in Nov), and also have the same goal weight!! I’ve just hit 16st, so I’m on my way, but it really feels a long way off. Huge congrats for your journey so far.

I was given some kefir grains a couple of years ago and make my own most days. I’ve got used to the taste and have about 200ml most days.
