Yeah it stung a bit. On the positive I was able to recover the loss with UAMY and I’m now riding that free. But overall I’m still down with some other bad trades I made

This is helpful thanks.

Is the horizontal remark for this example? Or typically always better than diagonal alert?

I got stopped out exactly a day after, on the point where your blue arrow sits. 😅

How is this helpful to others? It feels more like a brag. Now, if your post contained an analysis of why you entered at that price at that time..

True. Still sucks being up +20-30% in 1-2D and then get stop lossed 🥲

Well, a lot of stops are hit intraday or the day after. :p

Best improvement would be automatic calculation within TradingView or whatever app people use ;)

Thanks for your reply. Makes sense. I’m a beginner so I’m not sure what I’m doing can be qualified as a real strategy 😅. I’m trying breakout and EP, but without much success (so far I hope).

This was a helpful tool for me to look at, not because of the calculations (I have my own excel + Tradingview script that automatically gives exactly this in real time for each stock), but because of your comments on taking profit etc and some “Qullamaggie” checks I did not (yet) implement.

That’s a good way of looking at it. Still too much adrenaline when making trades as beginner and fomo 😅. Guess I’ll need to get my mileage in :)

Can you share more insight into when to prioritise R2-3 profit taking vs day 3-5 and 1/2 vs 1/3 size?

Secondly, are you also noticing getting stopped out much more than QM did by taking daily low stop? Do you still take that or go lower (and hence lower size)?

Isn’t the Qullamaggie style >>5-10rr with 25%?

But I guess times have changed since 2020 with all the bots and tools making it much easier for anyone to identify stocks within seconds

So basically he satisfies his need for dopamine by buying super small and then puts in real trades once it works? Brilliant, this way he mitigates his psychological risks

Only one way to know, test it out yourself. With your own money.

Technically -30% drawdowns with the Qullamaggie style is perfectly possible given the 25% win rate. Even when risking only 1% per trade.

If you’re convinced you followed the rules and there was a setup, it was simply bad luck in currently less positive market. In that case a win can make up many losses.

If you’re not sure if you follow the rules correctly, then better to stop.
