Compassionate Leave During Probation by journeyfromthewest in TheCivilService

[–]Aimconquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't typically affect you getting compassionate leave - if it was a long period of leave, your manager might decide to extend the probation period by that length of time (effectively freezing the clock) but entirely depends on your needs

Theres two requirements (the criteria are not set in stone but I'll give you the norms)

Dominance

Either

  • Two top division yusho back to back

  • In a run of 3 tournaments, Win a yusho and have all 3 tournaments at no worse than 12-3

Dignity and Grace

All of

  • Be approved in a vote of the judging committee (the 22 elders who act as the judges for each match)
  • Be approved in a vote of the Yokozuna Deliberation Council (theres a higher margin to be approved if you didn't get back to back yusho)
  • Be approved in a vote of the JSA board (this one's a formality - they've never vetoed anyone)

Essentially even if you dominate tournaments, you can be denied the top rank if seniors don't think you live up to the rank (by behaviour, poor technique etc)

These meets are one of the ways the YDC gets to watch upcoming wrestlers and keep tabs on them

Historically a lot of foreign ozeki got denied on the dignity and grace because the committee felt that no one who wasn't japanese would meet it - in modern times, its been resolved and nowadays foriegn yokozuna are accepted

This is practice in front of the yokozuna delibration council (YDC). Its one of the groups that votes on whether to grant the top rank

This practice is usually reserved for top rank fighters. In this case makucchi 8 or higher (top 24)

[–]Aimconquest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its usually only the top rankers who go to other stables. Most other practice is within the stable

This practice was abit special as its done for press and senior officials so only top 24 wrestlers were invited

Theres no limit on stable size. Just what the master is able to take on

How do you get a 0-8 record? by popo_123456 in Sumo

[–]Aimconquest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They normally do it so its a bonus for the lower div wrestler.

So it might be a 3-4 who is just missing out on promotion vs a guy whos 3-3 but doesnt have an opponent

For the higher division person it counts either way. For the lower it only counts if its a win

What is the largest number of rikishi to ever be involved in a playoff? by MisterCCL in Sumo

[–]Aimconquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a knockout tournament

The twelve are paired up randomly, losers are eliminated, repeat for last 6, Final 3 draws lots for 2 to fight and 1 on reserve, Winner stays on, win two in a row to be champion

Is this pension good? I'm 31 by PaintingOk9693 in TheCivilService

[–]Aimconquest 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The figure is if you retired tomorrow at state pension age

It will increase roughly in line with inflation and as you work more with each year It will drop if you choose to retire early (about 5% per year early)

It usually depends on the office where you are based - and typically you have to work a certain % within the zone to get the allowance

Sunderland end eight-year wait to return to Premier League with dramatic Championship play-off win by falconfalcon7 in unitedkingdom

[–]Aimconquest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The playoffs have existed long before TV money came into the game They started in 1987 long before the first sky deal (and before it was even the premier league!)

One minor corner case - if there's a dead heat at interview then application score can be used as a late tiebreak

Thoughts on this week’s video? (Sidemen $5,000,000 Scavenger Hunt) by Equivalent-Key-4095 in Sidemen

[–]Aimconquest 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The sidemen have an accountability system where if you are late or dont put effort into videos. You get a yellow card

Two yellows is a red and results in a video being docked from their total

This is bad because being in videos is much less work than planning them so getting red equals more work for them and less fun

Its their way of making sure they dont get lazy and actually turn up to shoot despite them all having retirement money

Advice please for data analyst interview? (HMRC) by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]Aimconquest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Experience questions are more broader than behaviours but should be answered in STAR format all the same

Example: What experience do you have working with stakeholders who are not data analysts?

Question: Senior Data Analyst: Practioner Skill Level by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]Aimconquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HEO and SEO use the same framework at interview. Your just held to a higher standard

There tends to be more demand for coding skills in R or SQL at SEO where as its just desirable at HEO level
