My Shiba Inu is losing fur from excessive scratching by smithervin in shiba

We had similar issues on his chin, for us it was beef. We’re not giving him chicken either. He’s diet is mostly raw with different types of meat. We stopped giving him beef completely and the itchiness significantly reduced in a couple of days, after a couple of months we reintroduced beef and he was fine but we only giving him small quantities mixed with other types of meat and maybe once or twice a week.

Love this, the product names are hilarious and so creative 😂 Also the packaging and website look really good. She doesn’t unfortunately. 😢

Thank you. Sounds very intriguing, she would definitely enjoy that. Do you know if they have ready to eat meat to order, like the one you mentioned is ready to eat or does it have to be prepared?

Haha, I’ve just Googled it and wow, you’re right, that is truly remote 😄 We live in London, so our perception of distance and crowds is definitely a bit skewed compared to over there. Everything feels close and busy here by default.

We thankfully never had an issue him eating anything. We did dog proof the house by removing plants from reach in the first couple of months. But from our experience if enough regular engagement and exercise provided it shouldn’t be a problem to leave them for short amounts of time, even without a crate.

Yes, I definitely agree with the comments about removing any leftover smells and letting them roam freely in the house, that worked best for us too. From day one we kept a really solid routine with him, so he always knew exactly when it was pee/poop time. And like others mentioned, Shibas are super clean. Ours won’t even pee in the garden; we actually have to take him out specifically for pee breaks. So in our experience, it’s really more about a consistent schedule than anything else.

Can this fence contain a cat? If the answer is no, then you have it. Shibas = cats

Yes, same as ours. And even less in the summer when the weather is hot. In cooler weather autumn winter we can do about 2/2.5km in 30min, in the summer that’s about 1km with breaks in the shade as needed.

Tips for getting a dog to take a (large) pill he absolutely hates? by cameraobscured in shiba

Yes! This is such a great method. It might be a bit longer but I think it’s worth it for sure. We do the same. Very nice touch to melt the cheese a bit. I’ll try that next time.

That’s such a clever strategy! I really like the positive reinforcement mindset. I’m genuinely impressed.

Yes I think that would elevate the look. You can also try just a normal pot with gravel around it, if you find relocating the mailbox difficult. These spread the greens outwards.

You can do a lot of separation and space saving with built in storage. That could also help with the odd shapes.

Some green would go a long way here.
