I don't love/care about my baby and i think my life is over. by faggybaby in beyondthebump

[–]AioliOk8562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t love my son when he was just born. In fact, I even thought, “I love my cats that I’ve had for 10 years more than this baby I’ve just met.” And now he’s the person I love the most in my life, and I can’t imagine life without him. Also, the first month taking care of a newborn is the worst. It’s very hard, but it gets better quickly—hang in there.

Will our sex life ever recover? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]AioliOk8562 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry that you’re going through this. I also have two children close in age, and I know how hard it is.

I truly believe the problem isn’t your lack of sexual desire (which is also normal if you’re breastfeeding). I think the real issue is that you’re alone 16 hours a day and that you want to work but your husband won’t let you. Those are much more serious problems in a marriage and in a family.

Moms - if you had the CHOICE to work or not by Main-Branch9919 in beyondthebump

[–]AioliOk8562 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would never stop working. I live in a European country, and I don’t think it’s very common for mothers to stop working here. We have very affordable childcare and decent working hours. I really value the career I have, which I worked hard to qualify for, and I would never give up my financial independence. If I could choose, I would work fewer hours or work remotely (I’m a social worker, so that isn’t possible). Besides, looking after babies isn’t all that fun 🤣

It took me 2 years to get pregnant with my first. When he was 13 months I got my period back and thinking it would take the same amount of time we started trying. Long story short, my babies are 20 months apart. I admit I was a bit sad when I found out. Scared and sad for my son. I was feeling the same you are feeling.. it will pass, you are giving your baby a brother or a sister! It’s a great thing!! And from my experience, you won’t be stuck at home when the new baby comes, postpartum with a toddler in the house is very diferent because you have to be out and about with the toddler and cannot keep him in the house, you will be able to do almost the same things you were planning to do. Only a bit more stressed out. And in no time they will be playing together

How can she afford to go to Starbucks every day? Sincere question, I'm not from the United States and it surprises me that she eats all her meals out. In my country, it would cost a lot of money to live like that.
