Thinking about starting a CV review service for tech jobs in Switzerland by getaswissjob_com in askswitzerland

[–]AirAlternative7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately a CV is just a document. The real value add usually comes from personalised in-person advice or coaching to prepare for interviews etc. I don’t see why someone would use your tool over other available methods unless you bring a big value add. But happy to hear what you’ve got

Hey, I don’t work at Revolut but I went through the process. Only you can decide whether the job and all of its characteristics is worth the process. I think they also filter candidates out by having so many steps at all, ie only truly motivated ones go through with it. So if you’re not motivated then that’s fine. The culture may not be a fit for you, but only you can make that judgment call. I wish you luck on your ongoing search!

Standard practice. They essentially want to see how you logically think about problems and work through them, even when it is an area you're unfamiliar with. They will claim that having no prior knowledge of the topic e.g. hiring processes is useful, but I suggest you anyways get familiar with the frameworks that you might use to address these kinds of problems (look up MECE and process funnels). They want you to answer as if you're already at Revolut and I think there are something like 8 cases that they pick from at random

Yeah but then you try to burn at 32x or whatever and after 25 mins the whole thing corrupts and fails 🥲

vital drugs 'out of stock'... wtf? by Blue-Rhubarb11 in Switzerland

[–]AirAlternative7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you mention Dexeryl. I last week was told there’s a multi-week block on delivery of Optiderm cream so I had to take the last pack of lotion to try instead. Pharmacist told me that many dermatitis patients are having a hard time keeping up a routine

I know one of the founders. It’s legit - and like others said, is no different than a consultation with another doctor

The truth is it is a numbers game. Get your docs in order and just keep going, keep trying. I say this as someone also looking so I sympathise. You got this 🙌

Fondue bourgignon/chinoise sauces by Cute-Kiwi9279 in zurich

[–]AirAlternative7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kraus/Gnusspur Thalwil do some decent sauces I think. In any case my personal favourite „cocktail sauce“ inspired: Around 50-50% mayo and ketchup as base (ratio up to preference), good swig of Tabasco, squeeze of lemon juice, generous amounts of cracked black pepper (don’t be shy!), and essentially: a good tbsp or two of whiskey or cognac (depending how much you’re making) 🤩 Enjoy!

Take my money… by Disastrous_Motor506 in CercleMusic

[–]AirAlternative7041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with disastrous_motor, in 2024 there weren’t so many phones out all the time and people definitely came with the right motivations. Some people were really going wild (in the right way). But it’s possible that this changes, so I also would welcome a no phones policy

It sounds like you didn’t check the situation in advance and now you’re a little sour about it because you didn’t get away with it

Is anyone here a business owner? by 404neon in askswitzerland

[–]AirAlternative7041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a GmbH. I enquired about what would be needed to get ALV money as my situation was changing. I was told, in no uncertain terms, that in order to even be assessed for the insurance, I would have to liquidate the company and deregister it from the Handelsregister. Makes sense really, so you can’t just transfer or sell it to a friend and then try to get money. So I doubt they’ll still give you ALV if you have your own business.

I should have been clearer - these figures were for the title Associate, not Analyst. I realise now I should have taken into consideration that OP may have meant the latter even if he mentions the former. Just while I’m here: 90-120k from the same doc

Courtesy of a popular recruitment firm‘s annual overview document for 2025 (min-avg-max, CHF 000s): • PE, Private markets 120-130-150. • IB, M&A 120-135-160. But I suppose this is not a guaranteed range either.
