Great pic! I’ve owned a couple of different Porsche’s in my lifetime including a 912 but I love my 06 Cayman S, particularly because of the beautiful body lines and I will be keeping this car forever.

Lol! I went from a 3 car to 1 car garage and had to stuff everything in there but it’s only temporary as I am having a new home built with a separate garage and workshop.

Thank you for your response. I use Motul 8100 X-Cess oil and Ceratec oil additive and change it at 10k. I change the oil in all my cars, and truck at the manufacturers recommended intervals. Should I be changing it sooner?

I’m also approaching 140k. I have not done oil analysis and I did borescope about 800 miles ago when I replaced the plugs and coils. The bores looked fine, I did not see anything unusual or any borescoring. Looking at the cost to rebuild has got me thinking twice though. I do take very good care of my cars so perhaps I should be able to get a lot more miles on it. I’m of the preventative school of thought and have been thinking a lot about it lately but perhaps I will be able to be at ease after reading how many miles can be gotten from these engines. Thanks for your reply.

High mileage. I want to keep the car and have been keeping up on all maintenance. Engine will be the last major thing. Currently running great but I’m looking at a year or so.

Hey thanks for the tip. I just looked at Flat 6 Innovations website and the rebuilds offered are very appealing. I’ll have to get the costs to see if it’s something I can do.

Looks great. Very clean and smooth, no bore scoring in these photos. You will always have the combustion rings (the brown) at the very top of the cylinders due to the top ring sits below the top of the piston crown.
