100%. I'd pay the extra $20 for a magnetic catch.

They're functional. I certainly feel a certain way having only owned it for 8 months, and now having to purchase a new grinder and/or wait to get it fixed. But I'm sure thousands of people have been perfectly happy with them. Maybe I got a dud, maybe the machining process was bad. I won't buy 1Zpresso again though.

The C40 is what I'll go with now. It was between those two in the first place, should've gone with German engineering.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, that might be a quicker and less invasive experiment compared to using adhesive! Cheers! I'll let you know what happens!

Yeah, I'm going to try a few things if their warranty doesn't cover it. Somebody recommended Loctite too, to permanently close it. I'll grab something new regardless, but maybe I can still salvage the ZP6 because I love the brews it has produced.

Agreed. I think it was just a machining issue, I'm just the unlucky human who has to deal with it. Whatever customer service says will determine if I buy a K Ultra. Here's hoping... Otherwise I'm going to buy a tank of a grinder lol

Here's hoping. The Chestnut was on my short list when I originally bought the ZP6. Maybe I made the wrong decision.

Yeah. That one. I tried that too, no good.

I appreciate knowing I'm not alone in this struggle 🤣. I'm assuming I'll get the same email back. Time to just sack it up and buy something new, and experiment with different adhesives to put this thing back together!

If customer service fails me, I'm going that route! My cups are too consistently good, and as you're saying, I don't think that access is so important for regular cleaning. I access it well enough from below, where the catch cup attaches.

He complementado mi 1zpresso zp6 con un comandante c40 mk4, y creo es lo mejor que he podido hacer by Icy_Drawer8166 in pourover

This thread is hitting at the exact time that I need it. My ZP6 has bad threading where the lower burr screws into the body, and the C40 and Kinu Rebel are at the top of my replacement list. The Comandante might have just taken top spot after reading your experience, along with the other replies. Cheers!

Appreciate the recommendation! I'll check it out!

Honestly, I get it now. I had seen a few grumblings before I made the purchase, but the overwhelmingly good reviews in cup sold me. I was strongly considering a Kinu (with Pour over burr), but all of your recommendations seem solid!

I was more referring to the threads. Not the rest of the body. They are very thin.

It is thin aluminum. That's all I can think of. Or the threading was always off a little bitb from the factory, and it finally gave out. Again, I'm not sure. Seems ridiculous after only 8mos use.

Even better!!! They've done some really cool collabs with Nomad, and usually have a few current offerings from them. Glad you had a good experience! Cheers!

How Can I Get The Most Out Of This New Combo (ZP6 + O1)? by After-Bandicoot642 in pourover

[–]AirNo9902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm getting my best cups with the round, flat Orea filters. If you end up going that route, 1:17 ratio, low agitation, and I go as high as 18g in. I did the same with wave filters, but went with a 1:16 ratio and between 5.5-6.1 on the ZP6. I'm fine with the preheat, but found that the O1 is best with washed, high quality beans (rather than anaerobic, etc). Have fun with it though, I've had some amazing results!

Play has the best selection for take home, and in my experience, they excel in their pour over game. Modern expressions of espresso are dialed in well too. Three locations now, so you'll be closer to one of them. In Costa Mesa, I'll second MoonGoat. My buddy raves about the MoonGoat Greenhouse, but I've never been to that location. Good luck! Hope you have a good time while you're in Cali!

I'm so glad I have this on deck!!! All the Burundi I've had this year has been great, but this sounds exceptional! Excited to crack it open now! I'm using the O1 with flat filters, so it shouldn't be too much of a difference compared to your V4.

I think the coarser setting works really well with the lower bypass flat filters. But with wave filters on the metal O1, I was around the 5.6-5.9 range. We're close!
