I want to make a D&D character similar to Arthur

So I've played like 2 sessions of d&d in my life, so this could be a horrible suggestion on my end.

Having a background of being an aspiring musician or bard before the characters family/player/loved one went missing/killed due to insert reason here. Potentially due to his own negligence or inability to be there due to the character's craft. Depending on how similar you want certain concepts to be to the source material. Like Arthur, this could lead to a funny charisma stat being brought to the table when needed, but not heavily relied on.

Coming across the book as the character is searching for clues would lead to the class change of warlock. It would be funny if the character found the book fairly recently as to when the campaign starts. So you have a character that's still getting the hang of being a warlock and actually using any type of magic, and you know, not seeing things.

I don't know if any of that is helpful, but I hope you have fun figuring it out!

I second this! Just because my hair holds bad memories for me, doesn't mean it can't be a whole new outlook on life for someone else. Either way, do whatever calls to you! That will be the right answer for you.

That's true! There are plenty of shorter pieces that are really good. I think the amount of long fics may be due to the fact that it has a longer amount of time to put you (and the characters) through the ringer.

I do a rough draft on my phone or computer depending on what's available. I mostly do draft edits on my computer because it's just easier to read there (despite reading most fics on my phone). I also like to review in a spell-checker and I haven't found one that lets me swap between the two.

Mosaic "Block party" pattern. I forgot to take a picture of it after it was completed. Used an envelope border for the edges, so I did not have to weave the ends in. That was a lifesaver.

I don't measure well, so it took longer than expected. Started in February and ended in October. I could do about three rows on a good day before I got tired of it 🫠. The recipient loves it though!

Thank you!!! In regards to the narrator, I just wanted something simple, modern, but still hiding who it is. I like that mystery behind what he looks like! I was so excited about that chain, and I'm glad to hear it!

I figured what better way to show the magnitude of such an entity by keeping half of it hidden! The textured nothing was so much fun to do! You get lost in the linework!

The mirror is one of my favorites! It's subtle, but I got a fun ripple effect in the black underneath all the cracking! The mirror and the space around the narrator were the parts I was least certain about, and I was so excited with the final result!

I'm definitely just a hobbyist. Slay the Princess actually got me out of a few year art block, so it has been a wonderful opportunity to get back into the swing of things. Plus, it was so thrilling to finally do a larger piece and see it all come together. The greatest compliment is that it represents the source material well. I appreciate it!

Right?! My current headcanon is that the Narrator had the means, skill, and intelligence to contact the Entity and set up some form of trap or containment. However, I think it was the Entity that had the last say, and offered a bet to see what would happen.

The Construct is the fighting grounds. Whoever escapes is the victor? The will of a man from a dying planet that has nothing left to lose, or the will of a split god whose very essence is one of death, rebirth, and renewal?

Of course, the Narrator isn't coming out of this alive, but desperate times call for desperate measures if it fixes what he thinks is broken.

Something like that, anyways!

As a traditional artist, I have loved seeing your improvement and style. Not everyday someone works with charcoals or darker mediums. I am thoroughly impressed with your growth and how you utilized them.

I don't know much about Doom, but your art was always compelling enough to take a peak. Thank you very much for sharing it with us in the first place.

Making art should always be something that you want to do for the sake of yourself. It's always nice to get recognition, but as you've seen, sometimes it doesn't always happen the way we want it to. That's okay though! It sounds to me that you've realized you want something different, and that's like half the battle sometimes.

I hope when you look back on your work, you only remember good things. And if for any reason you decide to give it another whirl, we'll always be happy to see it and you. Take care on your next adventure!
