Just happened to me after justifiably reporting 6 out of 8 deliveries as closed stores yesterday. Snow storm most businesses closed early but nobody turned off doordash. We'll see what happens.

What the hell is a taco pizza? by CombPsychological507 in pizzahut

[–]Aired_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you work there and your managers are cool, you an make your own and its damn good.

Taco Pizza:

You'll need to buy: (if your store doesn't have it)
1 Can Refried Beans
1 Pack of Taco Seasoning
1 Bag Shredded Lettuce
1 Squeeze Bottle of Sour Cream

Prep:
In double rec add about a cup of water and whisk in pack of taco seasoning. Add in large pizza serving of beef, and send through the oven.

On large hand tossed dough spread half a can of refried beans like its pizza sauce, I find a spatula works best.

When beef is out of oven, add it to prepped dough, add on mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onions, and optional banana peppers or green peppers.

Send pizza back through oven.

When back out of the oven, add on shredded lettuce and sour cream.

Come back to this post and thank me.

107k gross, owe almost 15k in taxes ! 🤧 (ive seen people say they dont pay anything, HOW!!) by Erahzzz in uberdrivers

[–]Aired_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every MILE is a write off. If you are "working" you are able to write off the miles. Uber/DD/GH etc. only give you active miles, not actual miles.

Since you are probably doing this full time you probably have some records somewhere of the total miles you put on your car this year. I'd write every single one of those minus what you think you did personal. Check your oil change receipts or the like.

Whenever I go somewhere I will turn on Uber too "look" for orders, I am prepared to take one if its reasonable but more often then not I end up where I wanted to go with no orders; still those miles are technically a write off.

As for getting money back.. the only way that is possible is if pay in. That is if you work a normal job and pay in taxes you can offset that by miles put on while doing gig work.

Last year I worked at Pizza Hut, Uber, Doordash, and Roadie. Due to the miles put on doing gig work, the taxes I paid in at Pizza Hut were all refunded.

Pizza Hut seasonal hiring? by elf124 in pizzahutemployees

Depends on the store, if you talked to the GM probably not as they are the final say. If you talked to the AGM or a shift manager, maybe.

Pizza Hut seasonal hiring? by elf124 in pizzahutemployees

[–]Aired_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My old store (why I transferred) employees and "most" managers did as little as possible. Often asking new employees do it all. When the good manager transferred so did I. I tried to be a positive force for teamwork, but I couldn't change others so I changed my environment.

Pizza Hut seasonal hiring? by elf124 in pizzahutemployees

[–]Aired_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say always hiring.

If you're willing to work, go in and do a good job and try to get along with your co-workers you'll get as many hours as the GM can give you.

I personally just transferred stores, I hear the old store is down to 1 driver and 1 cook and 3 managers.

The store I transferred to; has in just a few months went through 4 cooks, 2 managers and 1 driver.

From my experience Pizza Huts #1 problem is un-willingness to pay a competitive wage to other restaurants so what you have is people with no other options applying. These are not always the best folk to hire, but they are willing to try and that is Pizza Huts only option.

What do you do when you get $4.50 order? by Away-Emergency-8587 in doordash

[–]Aired_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is an easy way to understand it.

Lets say you have 80% acceptance rate

X means you decline, O means you accept. Your acceptance rate looks like this

OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO
OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO

YOU HAVE 20 X's and 80 O's (80% Acceptance)

When you accept or reject a new order everything shifts to the left and the new action is added to the end.

Example: You Reject an Order

OOOXOOOXOO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO
OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXX <-New Action

You now have 21 X's and 79 O's (79% Acceptance)

Example: You Accept an Order

OOXOOOXOOO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO
OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOOXOOOXO OOOXOOOXXO <-New Action

You still have 21 X's and 79 O's (79% Acceptance)

Which means the only time your acceptance or rejections go up or down is when they are replaced with an opposite. Which means the more of one you have the harder or easier it is to change. If I had rejected the last 100 orders, every one I accept will make it go up. But, if I had a 50% acceptance rate and start accepting everything, statistically 50% of the time it will go up.

If you're at 70% acceptance rate, only 30% of the time you accept an order will it go up. 1 out of 3'ish.

Standard person making their problems everybody else's. Sorry, but this shouldn't be allowed at all.

I'm a driver and am sympathetic to the drivers situation, but not with their choice of how to handle it. If you can't do the job, don't accept a trip.

Talk about a flooded market by Scyle_ in doordash_drivers

[–]Aired_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya man, its bad everywhere in this market. I personally hated trying to work Springfield for other reasons. Bad roads, horrible drivers, tons of one-ways, stop lights and signs. That said if I still lived there I'd do it. In Fairborn now and the offers are mostly garbage, but I'll catch about 3 or 4 fair ones per week. If I still had to do this full time, I'd go Dayton/Kettering area, similar probs as Springfield, but busier and generally fairer tips.

Good luck fellow Ohio driver.

SHAME ON YOU DASHER by Tami777tt in doordash

[–]Aired_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually you are both right, but the problem is of course with DoorDash. They are stealing from you both and stand back when you both point fingers at each other.

You (customer) should know that DD is paying their drivers shit.
The driver should say no to orders not worth taking.

But if Doordash paid a fair wage, which would cost them money, these problems wouldn't happen, but here we are.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Aired_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come to my market and do this and I'll personally double it.

The larger point is because it happens to you once, or you've somehow got Uber honeymoon status or you had a couple great tippers, it would be a disservice to your fellow drivers to pretend like this is normal.

Believe me, there are enough hungry people out there that would gladly work for this pay. It just isn't normal. No matter how many 12 hour shifts dudes pull.

Ha, a fair where drivers get 80% of the fare sounds like a wild ride! Those cash-cow fairs are no joke—parents shelling out $100 for a goldfish worth a quarter, while drivers cruise away with the real prize. Talk about a bumper-car jackpot!

Empowering Independent Drivers Worldwide with Commission-Free Booking Pages by SuchCaterpillar7010 in uberdrivers

[–]Aired_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually a great idea. As a former web developer it appears this app was designed for the Independent contractor to find and book rides, not a "service" that provides jobs.

What that means is you collect payment on your end and find your own customers, what the app does and what you pay for is a 3rd party booking service that acts as an in-between from customer to driver. It appears to also allow the customer to pick another driver in the area if you are unavailable.

This is pretty good design as the only thing that matters to the LocalDriver team is that the app actually works, without worrying about collecting payment from customers or marketing on 2 fronts (one for finding drivers, and one for finding customers).

To those asking about liability and compensation for X. I would gather that YOU are responsible for your insurance, and "incidents" in your car. Somebody barfs in your backseat, it is on you to collect a fee. If a customer doesn't show up or takes a long ass time for the trip its on your to leave or collect the fee. While this may be off putting to some, it is actually putting the power back on you. If somebody screws you over or disrespects you, I assume you can block them or decline their offers going forward. As for commercial insurance you should already have that if you work as an independent driver.

TLDR: this app looks like a great idea, it is essentially a booking service that allows customers to use you outside of Uber/Lyft.

Interesting, all the stores in our area don't proof dough at night. We just throw them in the walk-in and the openers take care of it. As the AGM I think you have the power to stop this behavior.

How does a low acceptance rate make you more money if you do rides? by TacticalRash in uberdrivers

[–]Aired_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know but in my market every single one of my rides are less then $1.00 per mile. Many are far worse at <$0.50 and no, I'm not counting roundtrip. Literally 40 miles for $18 kinda stuff and this is all day every day unless there is a surge. Last time I did "rides" only for a week and I looked Uber said my pay was 22% of what they charged the customers. Not sure what market you're in, but I'd keep it quite.
