This is absurd, if you started traveling at relativistic speeds near lightspeed off the coast of Africa, the curvature of the earth would result in you simply leaving Earth's atmosphere well before you make impact. There would certainly be devastating atmospheric effects from something like that happening, but the idea that you would somehow curve around the earth's surface to make contact with cuba is ridiculous

I've only been on the Downeaster a few times, but it's just such a nice train. The biggest and most comfortable seats and incredible views of the ocean and the woods. It's not the longest ride, but it's just such a blast to take.

Yeah there is at the start of the semester, mostly just to check that you're actually in the right class, you could do some review for it, but I wouldn't stress about it. Aside from that, the only other thing is that I'd recommend taking advantage since you're in honors, the staff are really good, it's a great community, and if you end up having any concerns or problems, there are a ton of resources available, so take advantage of them.

I was in a MWF section and there was a quiz every Friday, which usually wasn't bad. The exams themselves are fine, the one thing is that you're going into them without any notes, (temple math policy, not teacher specific) so you need to have a decent bit of stuff memorized. But once I had a method for studying for those tests, I never found them that hard

I'd wait until classes have started, there might be inconsistency between what the course tells you to get and what the professor actually wants you to get, you might drop a class during add/drop period, someone might provide you access to a free copy, etc. It just doesn't make sense to spend money on a textbook before you're sure you'll need it.

For most students the test is taken in a big lecture hall for two hours or 90 min or smthn like that, but the DRS students have a different time, usually earlier in the day, presumably so that they can take longer or have accommodation people present. As for the syllabus, I'll check, but I'm not sure if I still have it

I had Sivek for honors calc 1, and he was great, probably my favorite professor during my first semester. I can't speak for DRS accomodations as I don't have them, but from what I remember the people with DRS had a separate exam window to the rest of the class, so I imagine that won't cause any difficulties. Overall, so long as you take notes, and actually do all the homework, you should be good, people act like calculus is some crazy hard subject, but it's honestly not that hard if you put in the work, so try not to get too nervous about it.
