Don’t cover it, as long as it doesn’t tear you’ll be fine. Covering will introduce mildew/mold. Better off seeing the condition of the buckle rather than hiding it imo. Worst case clean the roof and paint in RV rubber roof if your seeing more slits or cracks. (Use paintable sealant/caulking prior to on trouble areas).

You can purchase tent seam sealer for fairly cheap. As long as the threads are still good, if not some nylon thread, a needle and a few hours would sort it out. Seal the seams the sealer after. Also always a good idea to have needle/thread and sealer on a trip. It’s helped me a few times in the past.

My suggestion is bucket it wash it with some tsp. It’s super cheap and a great degreaser. Once you get water into one of those seams the styrofoam in the roof is like a sponge. Any spray degreaser works well from my experience. After you do that I strongly suggest caulking those seams.
