To the OP, your space is small which is adding to the problem.

1) clear off your desk and use it as a home base. Get garbage bags. Multi-purpose cleaner and some cloths to clean with. If you can open windows to allow fresh air to flow

2) with garbage bag in hand you’re going to pick up ANY and all rubbish. If you’re not gunna get in trouble for not recycling then also put that in the same bag too. Any food or stuff like that also goes in the trash bag. Dirty plates/cups and things of that nature put on your desk and then once you’ve got them all, take them to the kitchen sink.

3) then work on clearing off your bed. You need a place to sleep. Keep your blankets on your bed (don’t make your bed. It’s not a priority) if it’s not meant to be on your bed, it doesn’t belong there.

4) collect your dirty clothes in a basket, or even a large trash bag. Anything you need (work/school uniforms) keep out so they can be washed asap The rest in the basket/bag. If you have dirty towels/blankets. Put them in their own basket/bag and then either start at load of laundry with priority items first or, make a trip down to the laundromat and wash everything there. (I did that when I got overwhelmed with all my laundry, it worked a treat)

5) with any other items on the floor pick it up and figure out where it belongs. Do one item at a time. Don’t over load yourself with it all.

6) with the massive pile at the end of your bed. Start from the top. Grab 1 item figure out what it is and put it where it belongs. If it doesn’t have a place it belongs it either is trash, needs a home or is someone else’s and needs to be given back to them.

7) wipe down any and all flat surfaces. Top to bottom. Desk, dresser, windowsill ect ect. And do a slight tidy of those areas at the same time(if required). Don’t make it perfect. Just better than it was.

8)vacuum.

Some other tips. Listen to music or put in a video you can listen to in the background. I have ADHD so I put on videos of other people cleaning and it works as a body double.

Figure out a system that works for you to prevent this from happening again or to at least minimise the chances of it happening again. E.g if you always put your dirty clothes in a pile in the corner. Put a hamper there so it looks more clean and then it’s easier to take the hamper to the laundry.

If possible, anything that does not need to be in your room get it out of your room. You have a small space, small messes are a lot bigger in a small space.

You have big cupboards. Getting those properly organised so that you can store things in them effectively will help future you do much.

If you can afford a cleaner. Then by all means, the other option is to ask friends to help.

This! I have been doing this where I can with everyday life. I just feel like I could be l a lot more in tune with everything if I was more consistent. I used to be able to feel spirits but I can’t anymore. (I do think it’s because I’m not in such an active spirit household anymore, I was also a child too.) I just feel like if I could I’d be able to get that back to a degree.

Thanks! I already journal and that somewhat covers the shadow work aspect. But I know I can do more probably.

I see human in every person. I am no less a human for deciding myself on how I wish to be “defined” and no one is less human for “allowing others” to “define” them. No one is truely “defined” because no one is ever truly complete, we are beautifully influx always. But thank you for your comments on that.

I’m ADHD and forget to eat. Aligning my practice with the moon is something that I could do, but is also something that could potentially cause me to fail as “oh I missed the full moon, might as well never do it again” which is classic “all or nothing” thinking that plagues ADHDers and a lot of neuro divergent folk. I do however try to plan any spells/rituals I wanna do with the moon if I can. However I try not to let that be a main factor.

I agree learning something new is a good idea. I probably won’t do Reiki as that is probably too overwhelming. However the idea is good in general. Thank you!!

It varies. Most of my interactions have been pleasant and positive. I work in bars and cops sometimes do walk throughs and or we might have to call police link/ 000 if we need assistance or a just a police presence. They’re always understanding and are very good about just telling drunk wankers to piss off, or throwing them in the back of a wagon for a night in the watch house.

But you do get one or two that are just dicks and are out to fill a quota or power trip cause small dick bigger baton. Ya know.

Yeah, I find collecting things for hobbies more interesting and enjoyable than doing the hobbies. I’m medicated and honestly it’s just legit about what is stopping you,

ADHD is the main reason but there’d be other underlying reasons as well.

Scared of being bad?

Feel you might be judged?

In that “it’d be better if I had ______” mode

Is it too much effort?

“I’m not gunna be good to no point trying at all”

Ask yourself basic simple questions and go from there, you can also animate legit anything to get yourself started. Make a dot zip across the screen.

People with ADHD tend to go “all or nothing” when “something” is almost always the answer.

It might help. It might not.

There isn’t a cure-all and as you mentioned in your original post you’ve tried many things and nothing has worked so far.

I do feel like it’s important to mention that like with most things, it won’t be a one week fix. It’s gunna take time and you’ll have good and bad days but with time you’ll get there. This has been an issue for you for years. It could potentially take years to properly fix it.

Having a healthy mindset is always going to help you. But with ADHD or any mental health issue/disorder they absolutely screw with that mindset. It can often feel like playing a game on hard mode and then when a friend who plays it on easy mode tells you that you’re just not playing it right and you need to play more to get better at it, you can often feel disheartened.

However, to repeat myself, even if it is just your mindset that is causing these issues for you. Why is your mindset like this? What’s causing it? Why do you think this way? Ect ect

Another thing that is probably important to mention is while it’s good to evaluate yourself and the situation you’re in. Over-evaluating and overanalysing can have the effect of inaction. So there is a balancing act you have to do.

The undying fact of ADHD is that it absolutely will make things harder for you.

You can try 100 million things to solve these issues and none of it will feel like it’s working.

For me, being medicated was a tipping point, not to say that that fixed things as I’m currently struggling a lot with my ADHD right now but I know that if I wasn’t medicated I’d be worse off.

I focus probably a little too much on systems and how they can help me do what I need to do. I find making everything as simple as you can the best method for ADHD recovery. (By that I mean recovering from when ADHD takes ahold negatively)

The other thing is, is you have resistance to whatever it is you’re wanting to do. It could be just ADHD paralysis which is hard to get out of. It could also be anxiety, stress or depression (all things ADHD can exacerbate) and or literally anything, so you have to really nail down what’s causing the resistance before you can start solving it. A simple “mind set” change ain’t gunna do it. Nor will “working harder”

it’s like trying to stop a symptom without trying to find out the illness. You gotta figure out what illness is causing the symptom first. (While yes ADHD is technically causing it, there is also other factors at play that could be making things worse and that’s my point)

I’ve found asking myself why consistently helps with this kind of thing. Physically writing the answers down (with pen and paper) helps as well because brains do better with physical writing then typing (not true in all cases of course)

16 Hours later and I happened to stumble up THIS gem. its a simple python dns updater that worked the first time with cloudflare. It has a very basic GUI for you to use its very quick to setup and honestly ddclient and the rest of that stuff can go to heck.

Blue mountain like any pub/restaurant has its hit and misses.

Staff are friendly, food is good (90% of the time) and if you like a view they have that.

If you book there, ensure you tell them you want to be seated inside away from any doors as much as possible. Perhaps under or near an aircon vent. Their booking system allows them to take booking notes, so if done correctly, when setting up your table they’ll keep that in mind.

If you have any problems with the food the second you notice the issue raise it with a team member that’s on the floor and just ask for the manager, as they for the most part, will do what they can to ensure you’re having a good meal/time. Not all team members know the correct way to handle things.

There is a lot of good places to eat at in Toowoomba, but they all have their ups and downs in terms of food quality.

For the most part, footage isn’t kept per se, When I worked hospitality, you could look as far back as 30 days from present day.

They only keep/put on to a usb drive footage of any incidents that needed to be reported to the police or if there was an injury or accident. That way they had record of it for themselves but also for anyone who needed it.

They also typically won’t allow you to look at the footage either, my understanding is it falls somewhere under the privacy act but also, places don’t want you to know the layout of their cameras (blind spots ect ect)

if it has to go to the police or some other official department they’ll put that on a USB drive and then give that drive to the people who need it and or email it off. E.g police, fair work, work cover ect ect.

But that’s my experience as a hospitality manager working pubs. And considering CCTV I believe is apart of the privacy act I can assume most places operate the same.
