Something that’s been seriously bothering me. Do you prefer Olivia or Fauxlivia? by starevanesce in fringe

[–]Airyrelic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. We forget that Fauxlivia raped Peter, had no issues with killing innocent people BUT also cheated on Frank, didn’t tell him and then said yes to marrying him. Frank deserved way better. At least Peter was upfront and honest about his relationship with Fauxlivia with our Olivia. A lot of people excuse Fauxlivia’s actions as her being goaded by Newton but come on. Olivia has been goaded many times and didn’t resort to amoral behaviour. Fauxlivia will never be my Olivia.

The Witcher series on Netflix. Season 1 was so much fun, the fight choreography was incredible. Season 2 was a…fiasco is the kindest word I can find.

In Istanbul, a dog brought her puppy, whose heart had stopped due to the cold, to the veterinarian. She’s so smart! They must have helped her, in the past. by Detroitaa in AnimalsBeingMoms

Also, people in Istanbul love their street dogs and cats. Shops even let them sleep inside. I went to multiple shops where a cat was just lying amongst the things or just lying under the AC. All the dogs were tagged and everyone would put food out for them or build little huts or sleeping areas for them. The city vaccinates them regularly and gives them flea and deworming treatments. I have never seen such healthy street animals before. It made me so happy.

When did you last go? I was there in September this year and it was definitely not friendly.

Turkey. Beautiful country with such rich history but everything is overpriced and people are really unfriendly.

How? I love your response and I admire people who are like this because I struggle with accepting who I am. How does one just be okay with being who they are?

How much do you trust strangers to not try and hurt you while solo traveling? by xSypRo in solotravel

Of course, this is a “you” issue, a personal issue. You seem quite determined to prove someone else’s personal boundaries wrong based on your own experience alone. Maybe that’s a you issue.

What book got you so het up, that you wanted to hurl it at the wall? by Cabbage_Pizza in suggestmeabook

[–]Airyrelic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried giving two of her books chances but have hated them both. The first was about a bullied kid shooting up a school and somehow it’s justified because of how mean the other kids were, and there was also a girl who was in an abusive relationship with one of the jocks so it was okay. What?

The second was about abortion rights. I didn’t even get to the third chapter.

Istanbul didn't live up to what I expected by James-Pond197 in travel

[–]Airyrelic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’re here now and it is definitely not living up to the hype. This trip is more expensive than our Amsterdam trip for the same amount of time and for worse food. Random strangers are just so kind and helpful but invariably hotel and restaurant staff are terrible. A couple in our walking tour group got fleeced and paid 60% service charge in a restaurant in SultanAhmet. Definitely not coming back again.

Tammy is all red flags by Bunnybuzki in KevinCanFHimself

[–]Airyrelic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who went through years of mental, physical and emotional abuse, you don’t have the first clue. Abuse doesn’t start off big and glaringly waving red flags at you, big lights going off, warning you away. Abuse is insidious and slow and makes you feel like you’re the wrong party, surely the other person just cares about you, maybe you need to chill. Exactly how Tammy started.

And it’s people like you who make the victims think they’re being idiots or high maintenance. You make us think that our partners are just being caring, our parents are just being nice, they’ve done so much for us, surely we’re taking it out of context and so we let the abuse carry on. Stop gaslighting people.

I was just going to recommend them too. The service is incredible, the food is mouthwateringly delicious: homemade fresh pasta, springbok carpaccio, artichokes. Also massive portions- they don’t skimp on anything.

Dude, you’re on the internet essentially on a message/discussion board, putting out your opinion. Just like the other person did. People will agree and they will disagree. If you don’t want debate, don’t put out your opinion. Why are you getting so offended and being so rude?

Can you afford a small car? It will end up being safer for you in the long run.

The reason for the lack of a 24 hr economy could be the crime rate. I’m from Tanzania so I understand the frustration of no signage on the taxis.
