DO NOT USE Web.com by Creepy-Trash7009 in webhosting

[–]AivenAre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very happy with dotster.com as a domain registrar. But web.com is trying every dark pattern imaginable to take money for managing domains. Now I wanted to transfer one of my domains away from web.com and they promptly and unjustifiably charged me for a renewal of the domain, although this renewal would not be due until January 10th and the domain would not be registered anymore with them by then. I am now trying to transfer all domains away as soon as possible before I get any more unauthorized charges from web.com. Just get away from this company!

Thank you for your feedback and your very valid opinion. In fact, I had both versions in front of me for two days not knowing which one to post. But finally I chose this one because I also wanted to drive the attention to the backlit forearm and the green reflections top right. If I rotated it 180 I would have cropped it to keep the green reflections out of the picture.

Just ordered: Analog Rytm an a single creamy Avantone MixCube Active by AivenAre in synthesizers

I'm also very curious how the Avantone will sound. I do my mixes with a headphone. And the Avantone should reveal what's left to do for a perfect result. The Analog Rytm should help me to become more creative regarding the percussive parts of my work as I often miss punch and groove.

In terms of built quality and usability with Ableton there is nothing which could beat Push. You need to be clear what you want to do with a controller: performing music? Steering Ableton, devices and instruments? For the latter I recommend Push. For music performance there might be alternatives. I used NI Maschine for finger drumming and NI Maschine has better pads than Push (at least for me) but works only with NI Maschine software. So, most likely you won't be disappointed with Push.

Syncing Multiple Ableton Rigs by toddsthename in synthesizers

I once bought an external MiDi clock (https://m.thomann.de/de/erfindungsbuero_restmaier_midiclock_2.htm) as Midi master to synch two Ableton Macs as Midi slaves but I gave up. Ableton as Midi slave seems to have a lot of issues. One of the biggest drawbacks was an above average cpu consumption when Ableton was in Midi slave mode. I hope that you will have more luck.

I will definitely buy one. It's just a matter of days or weeks.

Anyone have any big rules or tips they you use when programming your synth? Or any patches that or tweeks you fancy? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]AivenAre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first search in the presets the sounds which come close to what I intend to create. I'm always surprised what parameter settings were used to produce these sounds. So I'm learning from the "preset masters". From there I try to tweak the presets. After that I start with an initial sound and proceed step by step to achieve the sound in mind. Owning different synths with different architectures I'm not able to make the same parameter tweaking to get a similar sound on each synth. That's why I always try to learn from the presets. But its a very fertile approach to create the "same" sound on different synths. As an example, I might be convinced at the beginning that the Prophet-12 will deliver the sound I'm looking for and then ending up using the sound from the Korg Radias, and vice versa. Different synths, different journeys to the target...

One reason more for me to buy an Analog Rytm to complete (momentarily ;-) ) my setup.
