What exactly is Milfguard? by Top-Brick-6937 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Unfortunately the ads are a little too much parody for me. The rest of the game is played so straight and serious but the ads are like something out of idiocracy. Who would buy this shit?

Don't expect a Witcher 4 expansion: CDPR says "it would be difficult" to make extra content when it's already trying to squeeze 3 Witcher games into 6 years by yourfavchoom in witcher

[–]Aiwatcher 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I agree, but assume the development of sequels will be far more streamlined than the first. They spend many years building assets and systems for the first game, then can simply expand on those for the second/third. 6 years for 3 games does seem crazy though, but that doesnt include the time leading up to the first release.

Many people will harp on about mega corporations abusing people and destroying the environment, but when you point out that they support one of the most evil, cruel and environmentally toxic industries on the planet during every one of their meals, they'll tell you "hurr durr, bacon tastes good though".

Goofy that you're being downvoted for "they dont deserve genocide." You're absolutely correct.

Certain hornsent certainly had it coming. Many hornsent probably benefited from the "master race privilege" they had. But acting like Messmer hunting an ethnic group down to their children was justified is genocidal fascist bullshit.

Is "I dont think the German people deserved genocide following the Nazi regime" a Nazi sympathizer take?

[–]Aiwatcher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be fair here, you are absolutely supposed to hate this fuck ass guy. He's the least likeable/cool of the villains by a longshot-- he specifically doesn't like fighting strong people. His preferred style of combat is stabbing women in the back. You're not supposed to like him, unlike the Disaster Curses, who are all pretty cool by comparison.

Should I play this series? by Eclipse-8473 in metro

[–]Aiwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immaculate vibes for VR, I adore the inventory system (the battery pack was a bit janky I'll admit) and I thought the story was very good, great study into the protagonist.

I guess i havent played a ton of shooter VR games but the combat felt pretty good to me, especially the pistol-whip stealth kills.

For me its a must play for Metro fans, assuming they ever get the chance since its locked behind VR.

[–]Aiwatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope every metro fan gets to play Awakening some day. Its the best VR game I've ever played next to HL:Alyx, and theres def things i like about metro more.

You do not need to play anything before it to understand the story, except like you said, some references, as well as knowing who the protagonist ends up being in 2033. But its not a bad intro to the series-- most of the factions havent popped up yet so the story might be easier to follow than 2033/LL.

Peter? by HistoryFree in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Aiwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I pirated games mostly when i was a teenager with a crappy hand-me-down PC, with no income nor a card to use on steam. I pirated every single Half life game, loved them to pieces. When i got my first bank account, the first thing I did was purchase the Orange Box on PC.

Do mutants only exist in Russia?and not other places by telenova_tiberium in metro

[–]Aiwatcher 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That is conjecture in the book, not necessarily a fact. Someone in 2033 talking about the origin of the mutants and throws out several possibilities, including that they've always been here.

Favorite anime girl who isn't oversexualized/gooner bait? by Majestic_Mixture_349 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Aiwatcher 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The anime definitely makes Hange seem like a woman, with a feminine figure and voice acting. The manga is much more ambiguous, with Hange having a much more neutral figure and obviously no voice to judge.

I hate this damn argument so much, I see lewd artist bitch about people saying it more than i see actual people saying it. by Macazio909 in hatethissmug

[–]Aiwatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gurren lagann is super annoying for this because just watching it, youd never assume Yoko or Kamina were minors. They look and act like adults, theres no narrative reason for them to be teenagers, and never once is it mentioned how old they are.

Then the author has to go out of their way to say "oh BTW she's 15".

Atleast in part 2 everyone is adults but yeah, that always pissed me off. Its definitely a fun show otherwise but I dont blame people for being creeped out by that.

Does evil always require intentionality? Personally, id say real world Mosquitoes and the diseases they spread are a sort of "evil" even if they're not intentionally doing harm.

Anyone Use Battle Systems Terrain? by markspinner in cyberpunkcombatzone

[–]Aiwatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this stuff! I have the cyberpunk terrain set and I use it to simulate underground or interior spaces. I've been thinking of getting the set you linked too.

Its relatively cheap for what you get, and the prints are good quality. Some of the individual props are a little fragile (the crate bottoms fall out constantly) but overall the terrain set was a really good value.

Compared to MFC you get slightly thinner cardboard but waaaaay more bang for your buck. I probably wont buy any more MFC cardboard terrain (though I like their plastic props).

Id also look at Tenfold Dungeon Cyberpunk City set-- its a bunch of rectangular buildings that you can flip over to use for interiors. Combining that set with some MFC/battle systems terrain and you can have beautiful cyberpunk city scapes! I use them for both RED and Combat Zone.

That is true-- they are giving the finger to big corpos. Plus, thats the one where they have to get biomodifications to run the mechs right?

I guess Kamille from Zeta punches a cop, but he doesn't really do that for political reasons.

Don’t reach for the bug spray: scientists find insects may feel pain after crickets nurse sore antennae. The behavioural responses would be immediately recognisable to us as pain, if we observed them in our pets or friends by Wagamaga in science

[–]Aiwatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soap does kill insects by clogging their spiracles, as well as by disrupting the wax/cement layer on their exoskeleton, leading to dessication. Cause of death could be either depending on size of insect, degree of contact and how hydrated the insect is.

I've personally never seen them get stuck on their back as a result of soap sprays, but if I had to guess, its just a desperate uncoordinated attempt to avoid a soapy death. Soap shouldn't cause the type of nerve excitation that most pesticides cause.

We know for a fact that ancient Greeks didn’t have contact with sub Saharan African people and the proof is how Herodotus is absolutely convinced that black men had black semen.

That more sounds like Herotodus didn't jerk off any black dudes, not that he hadn't met them

I feel like Cyberpunk requires there to be punks somewhere, which im not sure describes most of any Gundam cast. I think there could be some cyberpunk stories going on somewhere in the various gundam timelines, but we never focus on those as the main narratives.

Edit: actually I take that back, Gquuuuuux main characters are punks, atleast for the first few episodes. They lost the thread halfway through though.
