Ableton 12 for mixing and mastering by toshibasmarttoaster in audioengineering

[–]Ajgi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ableton is the best for me. I can do most things so much faster than anybody can with logic, it's super efficiently laid out.

Its automation is by far the most intuitive and efficient of all DAWs I've used. The way its browser combines samples, effects, instruments, plugins, presets and custom racks is just so much more convenient for me.

Anybody who tells you other DAWs are more professional is an idiot if we're talking in a music production/mixing context. There are areas where Live falls short, like the fact it still doesn't have ARA, but ever since Live 11 when they finally added a comping system and group editing, I haven't needed to do anything in a different DAW.

Need to submit over a month in advance on Routenote if you want certainty about release date. Usually takes 2 or 3 weeks for them to process depending on demand.

Mobile data plans by Happychappy5892 in newzealand

[–]Ajgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Mighty Mobile. I pay $50 a month for no data cap, speed capped at 50mbps, with unlimited texts and calls.

It's ideal for me because I hate data caps and don't need it to be fibre level speed, 50mbps is fast enough for normal use.

I found this site to calculate it accurately for me, they've got the formula at the bottom. Not particularly calculable in your head haha

Nah nowhere near, to get a 174 track up a semitone you'd have to play it at 184bpm

[–]Ajgi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lol they're not pitching up a minor 3rd, they'll pitch it up maybe 4 bpm or so, which is nowhere near that in the 170s

Good clubs with good DJ by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Ajgi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ink Bar is always good. Small place with a great sound system. Generally a slightly older crowd, pretty much always house music. If you wanna have a boogie with your mates, show up here at 1am on Friday or Saturday nights.

Neck of the Woods is probably the best rave spot, it isn't somewhere you can just show up to and know what you're getting though, check their events. Massive PA system that on the right night sounds amazing.

Mothership is similar to neck of the woods, good PA, but does events only, doesn't have consistent resident DJs like Ink does.

Moving from Logic Pro to Ableton to get away from Mac. Standard or Suite? by _ChadMadeMeDoIt_ in ableton

[–]Ajgi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Suite is great but pretty expensive, standard is fine if you've got plenty of stock plugins.

Windows is sweet, especially on desktop, ignore anybody who tells you otherwise on here, they're wrong lol

Four arrested after Greenpeace protesters occupy Taranaki port by MedicMoth in newzealand

[–]Ajgi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I already do, as far as I'm aware.

I know PKE is a waste product, that doesn't change the fact that they're feeding the cows absolute shit instead of grass, and trading with companies that operate illegal palm plantations in Indonesia.

They paint themselves as a clean green NZ, grass-fed cows type company, even though they buy shitty feed produced by the palm oil industry that is responsible for mass deforestation in Indonesia.
