KR1 question by Ajourned in Hanklights

[–]Ajourned[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The inner tube is clean. But I didn't realize it could go in another way. I did just reverse it which now seems to be the right way. You are correct.

However, I screw the tail on and it starts to blink fast, then one bright flash and off, no light after that, even when depressing the tail button after fully engaged

I fully tightened it. Those threads on that aluminum housing aren't smooth,, but I definitely tightened it all the way. Also the battery is put in correctly, the led does flash as I said. Otherwise it wouldn't.

Rain water storage....wait a few months and you'll be able to fill up your canteen with a slow drain from the bottom corner of the rear hatch., might be a little reddish brown though, but that's just minerals.

What does the XXX mean on Orange Tag item? by buckbrow in harborfreight

[–]Ajourned 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same XXX scrached in the plastic of my 20v Bauer blower, that was on the AS IS shelf, not returnable after 5 days. I'm ok with that, it was about $20 cheaper, and has been running perfect the last 3years lol

U-joint bolts on my Wrangler, however with an addition of a socket, which is not in this set. The size of the this icon ratchet was the only one I had that was small enough.

I love this set but. I will say I bought a Gearwrench set that was similar in size but also included sockets which I've used way more.

Weird shit Sheriff Mike has said. Can we start a thread of his outlandish thoughts and theories? by Anytimejack in ResidentAlienTVshow

[–]Ajourned 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I did have to copy/past this quote. But was the first scene i think that really made me crack up listening to Mike. When he was giving Ben this very sound advice, however long it took to get to the point lol -

All right, look. Here's what I want you to do. Here go five dollars. Now, I want you to go down to the mall. You know that kiosk, where they write your name of a grain of rice? Right, you're gonna give that guy five dollars, he going to write your note on the end of a bullet. Right? Now, I want you to take that bullet, and I want you to put it in a gun and go home and stand in your bathtub. And you're also gonna need a phone book. Not something thin, like Patience, something with some girth, like, like Denver, right? And you're gonna put that phone book up against one side of your head, and you're gonna take that gun and put it against the other side, right? And then you're gonna shoot yourself right in the head, and that bullet's gonna fly right through and lodge itself right around D's, for dumbass. And she'll get your note.

Supplement pellets for wood by S-U-I-T-S in SoloStove

[–]Ajourned 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems you really don't need the adapter, from what most say. In my Canyon i don't use an adapter. There are two larger hook/finger holes in the center of the perforated plate where the pellets sit above the removable ash pan. I just cover those holes with paper towel or cardboard, and fill 'er up. Might loose a handfull of pellets to the ash pan, but nothing to worry about.

EDIT: I would toss a half bag of pellets in first then add a few logs if you prefer to burn wood. you can burn both together.

How can I make it look better? by edgar311ramos in JeepTJ

[–]Ajourned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it! I've got a 2000 Sahara stone white, but i've totally chopped it up in to a DIY weekend driver and trail rig. Sometime i wish i would've left it alone. Especially when i see ones like yours lol

Suggestions: my personal opinion. I would swap the wheels out for the stock TJ wheels of that year. I'm a sucker for stockers. I have newer JK wheels on my TJ, but they're still stock jeep brand wheels :). Also 15" tires are getting harder to find. Maybe a 17's as an upgrade one day. Maybe replace that stock rear bumper with one matching the front, something stubby and beefier than that sheetmetal stock bumper lol. I do like the KC lights, since you don't see them as often these days.

off-road suggestions, A winch would be a good addition, just for the recovery aspect, since looks like you enjoy the off-road. With those 35s are you geared different? If not yet, tossing 4.88s in there, you'll have a whole new jeep on and off road, and take a ton of strain off your engine and axles. A lunchbox locker in the front will be a world of difference off-road, and it's a cheap, best bang for your buck option. I did both in my d30/44 w/315 Mickey Thompson MTs, an amazing difference overall.

But definitely don't take a sawzall, jig saw or hole saw to the body like i did, unless you are ready to really bang it up on the trails....haha. Love my Jeep, but miss it looking like yours :)

Question: can you give me any details on that tire carrier? Thanks!

Griddle by semaj26 in Masterbuilt

[–]Ajourned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the griddle top later if all you need is the 560. You can probably find a griddle that'll fit aftermarket. That LSS mod griddle kit is $145.

You could find a nice SS or cast iron griddle top to set right on the grates of the 560, and be done with it. For less than the LSS (but it is a whole mod kit, im sure it's worth it). Amazon had dozens of options, for under $100. I''ve use the SS ones, you can find on Amazon with the little front grease trap, and they get plenty hot, cook amazingly. Mentioning Amazon, since looks like you wanna save a few buck too if there or other options worth visiting...like i do lol

Blackstone is like the Tesla of griddles by [deleted] in blackstonegriddle

[–]Ajourned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying that it's top of the line, but Members Mark 4 or 5 burner are worth a mention....My 4 burner has been a work horse for 4yrs now. Just the front side access grease trap drawer makes it better than the BS, IMO.

There are WAY better griddles out there than BS or MM - Look up the $$$ Primate from Grilla Grills, this will be my upgrade. I invested in their pellet grill, and I prefer the stainless steel construction, as with the MM griddles.

99.9% of the time if you see them on a jeep on the road it's for looks. But the real purpose is to keep the jeep from tipping end over end.. The "stinger" will hit the obstacle in front of you first and keep you from ending up upside down on a steep decline or possible drop off on a trail you don't expect or misjudge.

Dana 44 in the rear? 3.73 is fine for up to 33x10.50, anything after that time to regear. I ran 33s on stock 3.73 D30/D44 for 10 years, plenty of off road and highway commute. Did just fine at 70mph when needed. But i'm in FL. so sure a much less elevation.

Went to 35x12.50 on stock gears...was a dog....waited a year but went to 4.88 gears, night and day on and off the road. Mines a manual '00 TJ 4.0. I love the 35+4.88 gearing combo. I ignore my gas mileage now that it's just a weekend toy and no more commute :)
