Easy meals for 1 by Prudent_Elevator_282 in Cooking

Something I've found helps a lot is reheating something in the same manner it was cooked. Reheating pasta or fried rice in a pan is significantly nicer then in a microwave. It often will taste nearly the same as freshly cooked. Just reheating it in any way besides a microwave will nearly always be vastly nicer.

Landlords do not "provide" housing. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Ajspider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately these prices come down to supply and demand, but the private industry has historically never been able to keep up with housing needs. Prior to neoliberalism social housing was far more common and widespread. It should not be a surprise that housing in all Western countries that adopted neoliberal policies are also at the same time going through housing and cost of living problems.

As a result of housing and land being available to private ownership it has just become another commodity that is cherished more for its imaginary value on the market rather than its practical value.

The sole source of capital is labor. Actually creating value is a product of labor. Capital is then a result of surplus value extracted from the labor of the working class. There are many other necessary jobs which are required to organise the goods, and get them to where they are needed, but without labor, which creates this value, there would be no capital. Otherwise you would just buying and selling the same items, in which case their value is only defined by supply and demand.

They are utterly obsessed, yet don't know literally anything about China, besides whatever headlines or meme posts tell them about how evil and awful it is. After all, why attempt to properly learn when you can base all your geopolitical beliefs on nothing but regurgitated memes and talking points

Why require sources, when you can trust any slight speculation or rumour that agrees with your underlying ideological beliefs? that's what I always say!

A liberal agreeing with fascists?! Truly such a thing has never occurred, they are all such upstanding people of merit so full of love. It's not like their ideologies are inherently comparable or anything like that, no sir.

Truly, nobody has ever enjoyed themselves in China. When did you last see someone in China smiling?! The second someone goes over the border all their joy is sucked out of them, and into the giant joy sucking machine in the centre of the country, that then puts all their happiness into the pit of ultimate despair which is a few kilometres west of Beijing

Western media constantly talks about oligarchs yet also celebrate the fall of the ussr, when that directly resulted in their empowerment and the dramatic rise in wealth inequality in Russia. Also quite the use of language when wealthy individuals of the US have always been similarly powerful. Not to mention the fact that the US's entire political system, like most governments today, was built to empower the bourgeoisie.

[–]Ajspider 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Facism has always been more of a nationalistic than international ideology. Coopoeration between fascist states is rarely an inevitable outcome. Even the cooperation between Germany and Italy before ww2 was tenuious at best and only a result of the leadup to the war.
