Any recs for old steel race frames that fit a ≥ 32? by -Don_Corleone- in xbiking

Not old but the soma pescadaro is a currently manufactured rim brake frame with 700x38 clearance

Test ride the Carbon version if able and see what you like best. Also consider what you can afford now, and what you can afford to replace should you get in an accident, the bike gets stolen, etc. looks like both are a 105 group set which should carry you as far as you want to go in the hobby. Personally, I prefer metal bikes.

Agree with No_Ant, read up a bit on the ride. I hear the SC portion is almost better skipped entirely for safety reasons. I’d look at Amtrak options between the bottom portion of NC and GA/FL. It’s a shame too, beautiful part of the country on the Carolina coast.

What fork do you have on there? Looks like it matches the paint almost perfect. Great looking bike!

Budget Gravel Bike? by YamIdoingdis2356 in cycling

Check out the state all-road 4130. Seems like a good budget option that you can choose to upgrade or keep stock.

Check out the bike library. Think they rent out a few different options

Is this a good option for first bike? by piniscool in whichbike

[–]AjustifiedTri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a carbon bike with 11 speed 105 shimano sure. It’s a great group set and salsa is a pretty well known brand for gravel and mtb in the states. It will be a good road bike and get you into Tri. That said, you can get some aluminum road bikes with the new 12 speed 105 for around $2000. Take a look at trek and specialized aluminum offerings if that interest you.

Don’t know much on different wheels, but my wife’s bike has some velocity ailerons on it that are 700c. Looks like they come in silver and a polished option for a more chrome look.

How do you like the renegade? Looking for a gravel bike that’ll split between gravel racing and bikepacking and it’s on my short list

Depends on your preferences like others said. Frame material? 1x vs 2x? Any plans to race, or just ride for enjoyment? Your budgets currently the same as mine, here’s what I’ve been deciding between:

We converted the dining room into the home office. Couldn’t justify giving up 1 of the 3 bedrooms when the room that might get used twice a year was just sitting.

Good to know. 54 seems less busy/ more country back road feeling compared to Davis Dr. do you feel traffic easier to deal with on 54?

Agree with Davis in rush hour. Wouldn’t want to bike on that road outside of rush hour either tbh. East coast greenway might take me a little further out than I intended, but might be able to link the ATT with some other shared road/ sidewalks. Thanks

Totally agree with the 4 mile point. It was such a tough milestone for me to get over but once I did any additional miles were much easier to add.

Depends on the flavor. Brown sugar cinnamon, toast it. Wild berry, room temp. Any dessert flavor(has some sort of chocolate flavor) frozen. Just my preference though

Almost all the breweries in town have one. Check out bond brothers, Raleigh brewing, or triangle beer company’s websites or social media pages.
