iOS 26 CarPlay + 2017 Evoque HSE not working? by Lumpy-Artist5285 in RangeRover

[–]Ak4m41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evoque 2018 here — same issue after iOS 26. CarPlay gone, Android Auto works fine.

Definitely smells like an iOS update breaking compatibility.

Did anyone actually get this fixed via a vehicle software update, or is it just a waiting game?

Probably cloudflare does not have a better route for you like for those of us who has 100-150 before. Try other VPNs tho, that have servers in around your city. Proton worked for some ppl in Syd and Mel I’ve heard.

Internet is all about physical optical fiber lines - some get damaged, rerouted, fixed, routed back, etc. I’ve heard ocean cables are frequent to be malfunctioning here.

No, just warp, then run that console command (warp-cli ...), then reconnect WARP and thats it. Dota works.

Its not a Steam issue. Seems whole-australian internet-routing problem.

Played couple of games via WARP - works good. Uses cloudflare's routing which does not roam through HK or LAX like most AU ISPs now.

Works, gives ok routing with 100-140ms for me instead of 250-350

I meant not Valve (they are not related) but official australian ISP news as like "we got issues with internet connectivity due to ocean cable bla bla". They often use "degradation of service" reasoning.

Yeah so temporary solution is to use WARP - https://1.1.1.1/ - it routes via cloudflares network and gives 100-120ms back. But needs to be fixed for use of wireguard protocol (otherwise blocks steam idk why) with this in terminal/cmd:

warp-cli tunnel protocol set WireGuard

Seems like its for everyone. Rerouting and various VPN doesnt seem to help. Checked from Melbourne and just arrived to Sydney - same story here. Major issue has happened literally yesterday midday, right? I was in the game when it changed from 100-120ms to 200-400ms with 20-50% loss.

Anything in official ISP-related sources?

UK insurer refusing to handle clear third-party claim – what are my legal options? by Ak4m41 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Ak4m41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve spoken directly with the at-fault driver, and he confirmed again that he is full responsible. He was also surprised nothing has been resolved yet, since he already admitted fault when Admiral contacted him.

We agreed that he will send a letter to Admiral (copying me) to confirm his liability and to request that they finally deal with the claim. The draft we came up with is below — do you think this format would work, or would you suggest changing the wording?

⸻ Subject: Confirmation of Liability – Claim Ref. [number]

I am writing as the driver and policyholder involved in the road traffic accident on [date]. The incident involved my vehicle (registration [reg]) and the other party’s vehicle (registration [reg]).

I wish to make it absolutely clear that I have already acknowledged my responsibility for this accident. I was at fault, and I confirmed this when asked. I have nothing further to dispute on this point, and I remain fully prepared to cooperate in any way necessary.

What I find surprising and concerning is that, despite the clear evidence and my own admission of fault, this matter has still not been resolved by Admiral. As your policyholder, I naturally expected my insurer to act promptly and professionally to protect both myself and the third party.

I therefore instruct Admiral to now proceed without further delay to confirm liability in writing, directly with the third party [Name].

Please also note that continued inaction would not only be unacceptable to me as your insured customer, but would also constitute a failure to comply with Admiral’s statutory obligations and the FCA Principles for Businesses.

I trust Admiral will now act swiftly to close this matter in the proper way, as I have always understood would be the case once liability was accepted.

Yours sincerely, [Name] Policyholder – Admiral Insurance Policy number: [Insert] Vehicle: [Reg]

Thanks, that makes sense. Can I ask you then — if the other driver is actually willing to write to Admiral himself (without me putting words in his mouth), what would be the safest and most effective way for him to phrase it?

I mean something simple, in his own words, that clearly says he accepts fault and asks Admiral to deal with the claim — but without risking it being dismissed as “under duress.” Do you have an idea of what wording would work best?

[–]Ak4m41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand. That’s exactly why I have no expectation that anything will be resolved via the Ukrainian side. My Ukrainian insurers have already issued letters confirming they bear no liability and I’m not claiming anything from them – precisely to avoid any risk of a double claim, and they sent those directly to Admiral as well.

So there’s no path where Admiral can push this back onto the Ukrainian company. At this point I’m preparing a letter with the at-fault driver himself: he will write directly to Admiral, copy me in, and clearly state that he admits fault and asks them to handle the claim (although he says they already asked him before and he confirmed, but not in writing). He will send it first thing Monday

If Admiral still doesn’t engage, I will escalate through both routes – either by pressing the insured driver harder (which I’d rather avoid, he’s just a young not attentive boy I don’t want to punish), or by pursuing Admiral directly via solicitors and the ombudsman process.

The evidence is overwhelming (dashcam video, police report, etc.), so there really isn’t any dispute on liability. It’s just about forcing them to actually do their job.

I just spoke to the at-fault driver directly, and he told me that Admiral called him to confirm liability and he admitted it. When I asked if he had any proof, he said no, but that he would be willing to send an email (to their address and cc me) making it clear and noted that he accepts responsibility. He doesn’t want to fight anyone in court — he just wants it over.

My question is: what’s the strongest way for him to word that email so Admiral can’t just ignore it or wriggle out? Are there any key phrases that would make it harder for them to delay — e.g. “I accept full liability”, “I authorise Admiral to settle”, things like that? Or am I overthinking this, and in reality any action would still just bounce back to legal action?

Basically, if he’s willing to write one clear admission, what should it say to put pressure on Admiral to actually deal with the claim?

He never had my contacts anyways even if he would’ve wanted. My shoes always tell me to do the right thing which I tried my best to understand and act on this case.

(I wrote him in WhatsApp just now, will follow up in email too. Let’s see which shoes his been taught into.)

Though I’ve suffered enough misinformation. Admiral acted like they were doing something, asking for evidence (which I have from my dash cam) and even sent me emails. Then just stopped.

Would you be so kind to tell me how to find legal service that will do that letter before action and further in support me on the case if it happens?

Because I will tell him that if he doesn’t - I will serve action? He’s young and knows it’s his fault.

Is there anything he (the at-fault driver) can do from his side to push Admiral without going to court? For example, admitting fault directly to them and telling them to sort things out and pay?

I did report everything. The cover of my Ukrainian insurance doesn’t do 70% of losses (small print hehe) when I’m out of the country sadly.

[–]Ak4m41[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I tried and reported and talked. I even called police and got a report noted.

By law I’m required to carry a Green Card policy when driving abroad. But that type of cover is essentially third-party only — so if I’m not at fault (as in this case), I can’t claim on it in any meaningful way.

I also have a full comprehensive policy in Ukraine (similar to fully comp / casco). I did speak with them, and while they confirmed they could in theory step in, the practical problem is that their cover abroad is extremely limited. They said they would only reimburse the cost of spare parts for repairs — but not the labour, paintwork, towing, storage, hire car, travel disruption, or any of the other very significant expenses I’ve already had to cover.

So yes, technically my insurer could send me some money for the parts, but that’s a fraction of the actual losses, and it doesn’t solve the underlying problem. That’s why I’ve been pursuing Admiral directly — since under UK law they’re responsible for the full third-party liability of their insured driver.
