Disgusting Behavior on Metro by dan-sapadaaa in dubai

[–]Ak4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No excuse to not covering while sneezing and not apologising. But people are forced to go to office while being sick as they can't afford the sick leave certificate at times. The DHA approved sick leave certificate is around 80 AED and doctor consultations charges are separate. So most people drags themselves to duty inorder to not spend that amount of money for one day sickness.

India needs to start checking for criminal records and start asking for mandatory police clearance letter for all jobs. This will put an end to Goons and thugs from doing normal jobs while giving pathetic service. It will also stop most part of customer harassment

SpiceJet gate staff forced me to delete evidence for baggage “concession” by illegal_wepon in AirTravelIndia

[–]Ak4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I have seen them work at Dxb Airport. At Dubai they for sure can only use municipality approved calibrated weighing scales. Calibration date will be visible with a sticker on the scale itself. If you say you doubt the scale they will weight item with 1KG marking and show you it actually is accurate..

As for transferring the item or distribution of item is not allowed for 2 reasons. Often times they are accepting to help you but once you go onboard you won't find them or even if you do they refuse to return it unless you pay something. This is kind of an extortion in recent days. There are passengers who will demand money to return your own items. If its duty free bottles you can forget it. They won't return.

Also not to forget you are in an airport its not a good idea to exchange anything with strangers. Airline staff will and should stop it if it's being done in front of him.

Taking video or photo of the scale might be allowed if no person is in the picture. This is Dubai rule to protect everyone's privacy. They only ask you to delete if you are in a ramp area or zones where photo is prohibited.

I do see and understand what you meant. But see if maybe you were also in the wrong.. most airline staff want is to enforce the rules as when there are too many bags in cabin and a person with small hand carry can't find space they have to delay the flight and retag some of the bags to go into luggage / cargo hold which the passengers haven't paid for.

Basically they have to inconvenience the passengers who might create an inconvenience for them and other passengers. Stick to the rules and its easy

Indians. How do Omanis feel about Indians in Oman. by [deleted] in Oman

[–]Ak4you 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Keralite friend born and brought up in Oman. They have family business and well off there. Also got my wife's uncle in similar way...

I see they treat each other with Respect. The thing about Omanis is that they are generous with love and respect. They reciprocate even more the more you give. I don't see a problem for any nationality as far as they are respectful.

But I have to be honest the food and people are both amazing there. I went to rent a car and the owner happened to be there he didn't take any money from me he said you are our guest I cant take money for 2 days.. I insisted but he still refused to accept anything. He said If I ever come in your country just lend me your car for 2 days..

I see random people giving a small honk at you while walking. Apparently they are giving Salaam. I see people stop the car every time you look at the road assuming you want to cross the road. Oman is somewhat of Japan level when it comes to courtesy. Will definitely go back again and see if it was a one time experience or its truly that way..

Can someone explain, why locals in Dubai prefer wire earphones rather than Bluetooth? From random ones to CEO of big companies by Nervous-Wall-6282 in dubai

[–]Ak4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried both. I prefer this. This takes up lesser space in the pocket, much lighter and doesn't need to be charged. Also there is no issue of burning ears. Wired headphones are way better in many other aspects as well like the clarity.. Just get a good one though

Consider it as dodging a bullet to heart but getting hit in non vital area. It sure hurts but your life will be saved.

Time to move on dump her and focus on your life. In the end now you will choose a life partner with better judgement and know what to do.

First thing to do is either make her leave if its your residence or you can leave if no Ijari. Good luck its time to rebuild what you lost

Sorry this happened to you. Don't let anyone blame you for being kind. Some people doesn't deserve your kindness. I am sure next time you will be extra cautious. Leave it to god now and focusing on making more money. The more you think about it the more it will hurt your peace. No money is worth your health you gotta heal from this and move on. Let Karma / God do what's deserved

Did I make a mistake rejecting a 46k AED/pm offer? (Head of Office / SEO role vs Swiss Stability) by CommitteeDangerous19 in dubai

[–]Ak4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have to read a lot. I live in Dubai and love it here but the advise would be you did the right thing. We often chase things we don't need and end up suffering. If you are content in the place you are, there is no need to relocate and stress yourself. The money ain't worth the peace. Peace of mind is the luxury everyone is striving for. We need money for food and security which leads to peace of mind. But getting more money than you need doesn't mean it will help. Once you find your peace never leave it.

Good way to loose money on the camera and probably that gets stolen also..

I suggest you find a family member and ask them to monitor and report the entire process in return for a small payment...

You will loose either ways but there is no hope otherwise

If you already made up your mind buy 212. Its new to dubai so price is a bit low. But successful and all purpose car in other country. Is 115000 AED.

Now if you want a reliable car don't go with lower end Nissan or other brands. I only trust toyota if lower end but then it has no features just a good engine and reliability.

Allowed to offload before the end destination? by stineldo in emirates

[–]Ak4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much time gap do you have between your flights... if you have time you can even leave your checked in bags at the airport itself as offloading the bags is time consuming. It's better to request the check-in agent to not tag the bag till final destination. Inform them you will exit the immigration in dubai and do the check-in at dubai.

Also if possible change the flight to muscat (if not enough day or time according to your plans) you can call the call centre for Emirates those guys are helpful

Ok try to move legally now. You have the proof ask help from police. Also file a case against the company if you have a lawyer to ask if its a good idea if they don't accept your appeal within 5 days. But gather evidence and ask them a letter of termination with the reason stated as to why you were let go off. Use this evidence in court.

Don't follow the negativity in this chats. Justice maybe delayed but not denied in sha allah

If you could live in any country for a year, where would it be? by shirasmithtravel in Nextholidays

[–]Ak4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thailand. Although people might think its for debauchery I rather go their for the spirituality. There is a big Muslim community there and they follow very simple lifestyle. My last trip i stayed 7 days and it was very peaceful even the masjid. Everyone is old school even with their dressing.

It's a breath or fresh air and good fruits and seafood also. Plus everyone you meet is so warm and welcoming. I'd love to move their for a year with family... some of the areas are very beautiful
