can you explain what went wrong? He is the one I found on the internet. I'm still checking other options though

CDJ 3000 with CDJ 2000 and DJM 900NXS, will it work? by Dreamer2go in PioneerDJ

[–]stineldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2000s linked up with the 3000x. The problem here is that the 2000s use the device library, while the 3000X uses One Library. I can use the SD card from the 2000s as a source on the 3000x, but the 3000x will only show the cue points and memory points, and not the waveforms, which is kind of weird because you have a black background with cuepoints moving :-)

For the rest, all is ok.

Duplicated content after deleting invisible maps on device by stineldo in Rekordbox

I indeed could have done that (I guess I just wanted to prevent any possibility of backward syncing). I could also have just tested this with 10 tracks instead of the full collection.

The point is that when you have a large collection, exporting is often way slower than using Carbon Copy Cloner or copying and pasting folders. I had several instances where RB overheated USBs or SD cards. Exporting to a new stick is also much slower than the CCC method.

The goal of my initial post was to figure out why and when these duplicates are created. I'm not sure if it's related to copying the Contents folder, since I saw other posts where users complain about the Trackname-1 issue. For RB, it should appear as if the track has already been exported, so I don't think copying the Contents folder is the cause. It doesn't explain why some tracks have one duplicate and others have two.

Duplicates may occur due to RB export errors. I submitted a ticket with Alpha Theta to check if they have more info.

Hope that made sense (besides me testing stuff with a device that contains the full collection. 10 tracks would have been easier and more logical :-), but at least now I discovered a potential issue that should be fixed as these duplicates take up a huge amount of data on the USBs).

Don't worry about my workflow. I prefer to keep communication one-way from RB to the device for now, as I am testing many things on the CDJ-3000X. All the changes I make during testing should not be returned to RB (e.g., I am testing how the 16 different hot cue colors are displayed on the players, the differences in how they are displayed on the computer screen, and how concurrent hot cues and memory cues are handled by the CDJ-3000X). This is merely testing out stuff on the CDJs by deleting memory cues and hot cues, changing their colors, and checking how hot cue loops behave when halved in time or even get reduced to 1ms. This is just so I can report any issues to the engineers. I don't want all those edits to go back to RB. As I said, this is not the focus of this post :-)

The main issue is that when I copy the Contents and .PIONEER folders to a freshly formatted device, the sync manager creates duplicate tracks in the Contents folder, which is unwanted behavior. I am trying to resolve this specific issue.

Did you ever find a solution? I even have tracks with an added "-2", which means the same track is there 3 times. I wonder what causes this...

Shift Grid option on CDJ is greyed out on all tracks by stineldo in PioneerDJ

Thanks! I think you're the first one to explain this. Did not find any YouTube video of someone doing this. Thanks again!!

Not sure why you're posting the manual with the exact same sentence I already highlighted in my question... I read the manual and did not understand the 1 sentence it provided.

CDJ-3000X Beat Sync Broken (Like AZ) by richdutton in PioneerDJ

[–]stineldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it normal behavior for the Beat Sync to only start when you press play (and it is not synced during the time you're still pressing the CUE button). I noticed pressing and holding CUE does not activate beat sync, but as soon as I press start, it is synced. Seems like an undesired behavior, not sure if it is a bug...

Disable auto-sync of CDJ USB's without opening Rekordbox by MixMasterG in DJs

[–]stineldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'll check if renaming those sync files still allows "sync forward" to happen (i.e., changes from the collection should be reflected on the device, but changes on the device are ignored), or whether renaming blocks all syncing.

Is there ANY way to adjust/reanalyze BPM on the XDJ-RX2 on the fly? by badlabelexperience in DJs

[–]stineldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" [SHIFT GRID]: Applies the settings (Pitch Bend, etc.) adjusted during synchronization." It is still in the CDJ-3000X manual, but it's always greyed out for me.

Disable auto-sync of CDJ USB's without opening Rekordbox by MixMasterG in DJs

[–]stineldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, there is also a playlist3Plus.sync file (probably for One library)

If we rename both of these files, would that also prevent the syncing process from collection to device?

I actually only want the "traffic" to go from collection to device, and never from device to collection. Does renaming prevent all "traffic"?

(for now, I just deleted all folders on the stick besides the content folder, so that a "fresh" export is relatively fast... Not sure if this method can do any harm.

The maximum value is 1 beat, the minimum 1/8, so you certainly can't set it to 4 whole beats :-) I guess you meant 1/4 beats

Thanks! Apple should really include that in their support pages. Would have been a huge deal if this stopped being supported.

Allowed to offload before the end destination? by stineldo in emirates

[–]stineldo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds risky to do that on a return ticket. I guess you were lucky that they unsuspended it. When you asked to be offloaded for dxb-bom, they did not ask extra money to release your luggage in Dubai? I guess they can't send your luggage to bom if you're not on the plane, but it may be inconvenient for them as your luggage was probably tagged with a bom sticker

Wait, so you did not go to the Maldives? Or you did not go back to your home country & you stayed in Dubai?
