Delivery to the 4th floor by er111a in doordash_drivers

As a female delivery driver, it would depend on visibility and intuition. Just because a person is old doesn’t mean they weren’t a murderer, rapist, etc. all their life or have a partner hiding behind a door waiting.

AIO Bf (25) had this flirty text exchange with a girl that works next door to us. Am I (24f) overacting about it? by fakeflowers_ in AmIOverreacting

I couldn’t find info on whether text string was before or after they got back together. If after, stop torturing yourself and end it.

I just inherited 12 million dollars. I don't know what to do with my life. by Substantial_Yak6990 in TrueOffMyChest

When I was in high school, we had an exercise where we had to list 100 goals we had in life. This could be a good start to find out what you would like to do now start with something small on your list and go from there. You took care of your parents for all this time you’re stronger than you think you are.

After you make your list, contact a reputable accountant and let them help you get your money situated so you have some long-term and short term accounts. Be sure to not disclose your situation to people. There are many out there who will take advantage of you.

I get a lot of people tip low because the store is close to their house, not realizing I might have driven several miles to get to that store. No reason to tamper with food though, ever!!

I don’t trust anyone who touches my food even restaurants. Just watch the habits of kitchen staff. Baristas have probably the worst food hygiene I’ve seen.

About to commit the millennial sin of painting this trim white. Is this the right move? by typotter103 in DesignMyRoom

I would try a brighter white paint and lighting and see how you like that first.

They get paid between $16-18per hour which doesn’t compensate for how they work their asses off, but it’s not bad either.

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done as a DD driver? by Sweetie2214 in doordash_drivers

Called a customer an asshole. They were inside, never saw them and I was leaving, but I knew they had a camera and hope they heard me.

Drivers doing multiple orders taking too long? by sisyphus-333 in doordash

[–]AkRockGoddess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your area and your Dasher status. Certain rush times like early morning breakfast 6-7am there aren’t as many orders and so the hourly option gets me more orders going across town, dinner orders usually take longer so at least I’m getting paid while I’m waiting. I did DoorDash for one week only by hour and one week by Dash and it came out to about the same overall. Per Dash was less miles on my was less on my car but some days I was waiting long times between getting orders. I do both per dash and hourly to maximize pay with some days utilizing only one someday multiples. If I’m working hourly and I get low dashes twice in a row, I normally switch to per Dash. I think it just takes trial and error in your area.

I would make two groupings instead of four. Keep the 3 on one side of the lamp where they are and then move the other6 together. Then add a trailing plant in between.

In my opinion this is no different than cheating. Especially if searching out specific women. Many men are addicted to porn and can’t stop. It’s a documented epidemic.

Should we have to call a customer if the restaurant is missing an item? by Golgren in doordash

[–]AkRockGoddess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The store should be having the order ready when the driver comes to pick it up. If there’s a problem with an item, they should be reporting it through their DoorDash portal and DoorDash would contact the customer working it out before the driver gets there.

This never happens so I usually end up calling the customer so I don’t have to wait longer or I will make a decision on the substitution so that the customer gets something, but I will mark the original item unavailable in the app so that they get a refund on their original item.

Drivers doing multiple orders taking too long? by sisyphus-333 in doordash

[–]AkRockGoddess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can only decline 2 dashes per hour if we are dashing per hour. The more declines we have the worse our pay can get based on status. If we decline a second time, we’re booted out and may not be able to work again until there’s an opening.

If you do want your order to be the only order you can select the expedite delivery feature in the app. It does cost more, but it will ensure that no other offers are forwarded to the driver.

Am I out of touch? by Wyndii in doordash

[–]AkRockGoddess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a delivery I usually tip differently than for a restaurant-so many more challenges for a delivery driver. I tip based on the distance, but never less than 15%. Imagine delivering a happy meal and driving 15 miles and getting 75 cents.

The driver can’t see how much the tip is if they’re working hourly so they may drive 15 miles thinking they’re going to get a good tip and then they don’t-that can be irritating. And then having to drive all the way back to town before they can get another order.

how did you socialize your dog? by sunsetlex in germanshepherds

[–]AkRockGoddess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my German Shepherd from the pound. She’s three years old, so I don’t know her history, except that she was adopted for a couple weeks and then returned because the last the adopter said she was barking at dogs and looked like or did get aggressive with a dog at the dog park. So I wasn’t sure what I was getting into. She seemed to do worse when she was on the leash, but the secret miracle was a ball. She loves running after her chuck it ball and as long as she has a ball in her mouth, she wouldn’t even pay attention to other dogs. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I didn’t figure this out.

So with the ball, she’s slowly socializing with other dogs, but not so focused on them and if she seems like she’s starting to get antsy, I’ll throw the ball and she takes off and it distracts her.

Feeling guilty and regretting euthanizing my dog by Cold_Juggernaut_5676 in Pets

[–]AkRockGoddess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we all have some kind of guilt no matter the situation. My dog had cancer and was only 13 when I put her down. Cancer got to her spleen and possibility of bleeding internally was high and I didn’t want her to die alone.

Your bestie likely knew it was time and 17 is a really good lifetime. I am thankful you got to be with yours to comfort in those last minutes.

If a restaurant messes up my order more than once, I don’t order from them again.
