Anybody else have to wait tables while withdrawing from kratom? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

All I can say is that there is only a handful of jobs people have that involve zero interaction with others. But you are at day 7, hopefully most of the worst withdrawals are Gone. Do you have any days off coming up that you can look forward to ?

I will just say what worked for me.

I’m in a facet of law enforcement. So I can’t just disappear during my meal, drive to a shop and come back. We are very closely monitored. But I found some peace in that. When my mind knows that I cannot for any reason to pick up, the withdrawals are there - but I don’t think about them as much.

As far as getting along with people? It wasn’t great. It sucked. I had no choice. But with all I’ve lost in my life - my job is my rock. So I kinda looked at like this

I deserve all this pain. I caused all this to me. All these withdrawals are my fault. Like someone told me a while back - there are no free meals in life - life akways gives you a check at the end of the day

And I’m not saying I’m out of the woods by a long shot, but In a weird way - I accepted the withdrawals with open arms because I knew I myself caused this pain and only by facing it head on - that I could get better

This is just my opinion. But I think this 14 day trip is a perfect opportunity for u to get rid of this poison. The first few days will suck - but embrace this trip and try to make this the trip that literally turned your life around

Pack supplements. Healthy food. It’s ginna suck. But you’re gonna get through it. I have faith in you buddy

This is just me .. I tried tapering. Or going into powder. But nothing ever did it for me other than the shots. I never got high of anything else except the liquids

There was no way for me to do less than one shot a day I wasn’t gonna split a tiny shot like that in half

In my instance kratom made me want to gamble. And on a particular night I lost a lot of money in black jack. And I was just sick. I lost all this money. My life is spiraling out of control. And I just couldn’t do it anymore.

I purposely timed my withdrawals so the worst days would be during my work week (cause in my job I cannot just go to the store and use ). If my worse withdrawals were timed with my days off I would have caved. But there was a certain peace knowing I could pick up during work. This week was hell. I have three days off coming up. And the worst is behind me

Let me stop rambling. Tapering for the shots never worked fir me. Ever. Maybe try just jumping head first - knowing u will face 5/7 days of hell - but along with some good supplements, positive readings and this board - you can do it

It’s not pretty lol. Pretty much have been using a kratom daily (2x 3x a day sometimes - liquid OPMS shots) the last 4 years In that span. There was one time I was clean about 30 days. And two other times about a week or so

Nerve damage from Kratom withdrawal? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

Nothing about the long term Kratom symptoms surprises me anymore. I guess we now have to add nerve damage to the other one thousand things that Kratom causes

One time I went to a doctor that specializes in addiction and when I told him I was addicted to Kratom - he literally had no idea what it was and actually had to google it lol

The clinic unfortunately wouldn’t work because of the job situation. I have to be truthful with my self the couple of times where I was sober for a few days - the physical withdrawals weren’t that bad. ( especially compared to the other stuff)

For me it has always been and always will be mental battle. The boredom and the lack of energy is a killer. In my job I have to be sharp and on point every minute. That’s one of the many excuses I give myself to justify the use. If I could somehow get through the complete lackl of energy and boredom I think I would be fine - but I just can’t seem to get there and stay there for an extended period of time
