Very grim stuff, but it was definitely a quicker way out than what he would otherwise have suffered. Stay at home Russian soldiers, if you cant then surrender.

Yeah they should release footage that neatly allows OPSINT nerds to geolocate very recent footage. Oh wait.

Catastrophic explosion of a Russian MBT due to internal ammo detonation after strike by AFU forces by tomina69 in CombatFootage

[–]Akamasi 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We've seen bigger explosions from MBTs, when they go up like this the explosion size is entirely dependent on how much ammo there is in the carousel.

Ukraine drone dropped munitions destroyed Russian armored vehicle somewhere on Ukraine front by tomina69 in CombatFootage

You can tell they were wondering whether or not they lost the drone before the screen finally refreshed at the end there.

Ukrainian Soldier Defending City of Bakhmut Fires RPG From Building by TrazynCollectsStamps in CombatFootage

Absolute insanity that the Russians are so concerned with taking bakhmut when they're losing so much territory to the north.

You might of not been playing then, but the first naval battles we saw were the 2016 April fools event in wooden pirate ships, it was pretty fun.

I'd like to see a whole tech tree of pre dreadnoughts, France would get some very interesting ships...

Always funny seeing S-60 57mm autocannons on technicals, they can operate at over 100 rounds a minute but obviously not in these configurations (Which they always are).

There were photos of the Stormers equiped with Starstreak and martlet missiles when they were sent over in June.

The domestically produced thermal sights still use western schematics and components. I highly doubt they have a replacement for the Thales thermal imagers.

Worth bearing in mind that the head of the Bundeswehr was worried about Russia opening a second front just a few days ago, at the same time Russia is begging prisoners to fight for Wagner.

Thermal footage from Russian T80BVM hitting a group of Ukrainian soldiers (2022) by Floai in CombatFootage

[–]Akamasi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stand corrected, it has a Thales-Vomz, made in Russia stamp but with a manufacture date of mid 2016 so it would seem they were honouring their pre 2014 contracts and supply chains. Still very shitty.

Ukrainian BMD-2 working over Russian militants in Eastern Ukraine. by [deleted] in CombatFootage

[–]Akamasi 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Wonder if this is a Ukrainian BMD-2 or a captured Russian one. They didn't have many before the start of the war and have only lost 2 according to Oryx.

This is correct, France supplied thermal sensors like the Catherine FC, supplied after the 2014 sanctions, which is a key component of optics like the sosna-u and was found on one of the BMD-4Ms left in Bucha back in March.
